Wade was so good today at dummy half that I think we need to cut either Morris or De Gois from our 17.

Clearly, he is capable of filling in there for 20 mins to give the designated dummy half a rest.

Then creating a bench spot.

I think there is a poster on this forum called Cesare who has been harping about Wade going to hooker. He's been shot down in flames many times but he could be on the money!

a few people on here have quickly shot down any suggestion of putting Wade at dummy half/hooker without really thinking about it. a few times i've stated that i reckon he'd be good in that role if it's what he trained for and had been working towards for years. however he is one of the games best up and coming second rowers and it's probably best to let him thrive in that role.

however you did make a good point about putting him on rotation. it would keep Wade on the field longer (which is always a positive) and free up a bench seat. i'd be happy to see that option experimented with if it ever were to happen.

No doubt that he could handle it, as I have replied to the suggestion before but his overall game would be wasted imo. He is so dangerous ballplaying on an edge.

If we were to go into a game without a 2nd hooker he could definitely play a few minutes there but when you've got the best young dummy half around in the lower grades there isn't any reason to even think of playing wade there.

i'll give you two reasons

1. Morris
2. De Gois

last year and so far this year neither has offered anything but mediocrity, and silly mistakes.

I have been a big advocate for Wade to trial at hooker. Can pass both ways, is quick, can kick, can defend. I couldnt think of anything more dangerous than Wade hanging around the forwards looking for offloads.
If the best young hooker in the lower grades isnt ready for NRL level yet, then thats a third reason.

And he didn't get his hands on the ball like 2 times every set during the test? Lol learn to watch the game.

And Teflon aren't you due back on set for the next hobbit movie? The Troll scene is up next

Two times every set?? Really. I must have missed that. Just like I also missed him standing in the backline offloading to the centres and fullbacks and running from dummy half as well.

Gallen was good on in the test. It shows that when he plays direct and looks to offload to a man running at pace he is quite good at it. If he does that week in week out along with making tonnes of hard metres we will be better for it.

We need more from Lewis. I think he has been finding his feet but he showed the quality he is.

Wade, Fifita and Gordon were all really good especially Wade. He is set for a big year now I think that game would of given him a lot confidence. Fifita is a beast and he was not even cranky. Wait till they unleash him against the Maroons. Gordon's only blight was getting beaten for dead by Fifita but I'll forgive him for that (he cares about my opinion truly)

I actually agree with this to some extent. Trial being the key word though.

I'd be that guy. People like to take a hit at me when I write but I am just being real. Graham would be a quality hooker. He would take on the line with strength, he can tackle, and he has a solid passing game. Big improvement on Morris by any means. He played really well in the City Country fixture and Fifita was playing off is hip. It looked really dangerous. Can't see why he could not replicate it for the Sharks, allowing Tyrone Peachey to take a bench spot, or hopefully Stewart Mills' spot on a permanent basis. You can all say what you want, but he is tutters. You will all agree with me one day.

well it's all about keeping our most dangerous players on the field for as long as possible innit? this would be one way of getting Wade on for longer and out of all our top class guys, I'm not sure who else could do that role as well as Wade. However, hooker is a specialty position and he would need to prepare for it should the option ever come along.

I didn't watch much of the city country game, i just want to know did wade run out of dummy half or was he just there to pass the ball. To me a good dummy half has to be able to scoot from there as well as be a good passer.

Only just read this. Senile old prick does not insult me - I call myself worse when I look in the mirror each morning.

There was more like 10 sentences in that btw & a pita to read.
