Not asking for money, don't worry!

Just letting you all know that I'm running from Nadi to Suva (200km) from this Friday (Fiji Day) till Monday. 50km a day, unassisted. Just me, a backpack and the road.

I have been sponsored by a number of companies to raise money for the local hospital. Patients must supply their own linen and dressings so it could do with a boost.

This is my last couple months here and I wanted to give something back.

Relevance to sharks? Along the way I will, as always, be handing out sharks stickers and posters (thanks a. snow and gil), t shirts, balls and other small items. The early villages will get the heavier stuff! I always wear my Sharks cap and training singlet.

Overseas donations are not allowed but I'll be spreading the Sharks spirit.

Just got back from Fiji yesterday. Amazing place with beautiful people. Well done Sixgill. The things we take for granted, are luxuries for them.

We had cause to use medical facilities in Nadi due to my 4 year old having a bad inner ear infection. The Fijians were so hospitable and concerned for her welfare.

Wento a local school and 4 year 8 boys took my 9 year old around the school and played soccer with him. They were such friendly kids. Went into the computer room and showed them the Sharks site. Hopefully converted a few of the lads.

I would love to see the Sharks set up an academy in Fiji for young players and put into the community there. They are so naturally athletic and built for rugby league.

The captain of the Fijian side in the early 90s played with the Sharks. In true Cronulla style he was a backrower but I can't remember his name.

Can you bring Fiji Day back with you? Wouldn't mind a public holiday on a Friday.

How did you go, SG?

I've done plenty of running but no so much into the multi day stuff, prefer getting it over with in a day.

How was your pace from day to day?
