I know I'm old, but I'm starting to wish refereeing was like the old days. Let the ref make the call and be done with it.

The replay decisions are doing my head in anyway.

Thoughts?

The broadcasters killed the game, with all the replays and about 5000 different angles
People use to just cop it sweet years ago back in the 1 ref and in goal refs days

the problem is there are too many grey areas in judging whether its a try or not, especially with grounding. Need to make it black and white

If that is really the case - **** it off, because it adds no value...

It's not black and white though. You can ask 10 people and get 10 different answers.

One day the field, ball and players will all have sensors and gps. Then we will know everything without even having to watch a replay.

High quality slow motion camera. Will be able to clearly show touch lines, high ball contests, groundings.

Something like a Sniko will show if someones touching a ball for contests/groundings etc.

Since when did anybody "cop it sweet" when a decision was wrong??? The Video Ref needs to be there, we just need to use it better, I can't believe they still get decisions wrong with whats avaliable to them.

Wouldn't it be great to get rid of the refs altogether. :p

But seriously they are ruining this game. I just tuned in to tonight's Broncos/Raiders game with 20 to go and the number of mistakes they made in that short time astounded me. I cannot understand how they pick up forward passes that aren't forward yet miss those that blatantly are.

Unfortunately most of them have never played at the highest level and sometimes don't understand the game. For example Josh McGuire was put on report in the 66th minute for a late tackle on Anthony Milford. It wasn't high, he got him beautifully on the chest but the silly video ref said it was late and should go on report. Deadset I would defy any player to pull out of that tackle when you're so committed to it. If McGuire hadn't gone in and Milford dummies, Milford would have either scored or set up a try.

They know absolutely nothing these refs and some of them just should not be out there.
