Love this guy as 13. Reminds me a little of Gal with his willingness to tuck it under the arm and take a hit up. Seems to be doing it at the right time too. I don’t wanna say a “calming” hit up, but that’s exactly it. Good way to keep a sharks team who throws it around too much at times under wraps.

There is a good balance of everything atm.

Dale is well and truly a relief 13 now and Cam the main man - can't be the other way around

Cam not as strong and chunky as Gal but for Cam running onto the ball at pace was key off some quick ptb's and sharp passing from Brailey. Cam was took it up like he a kamikaze cannon ball.

Bit surprised he was put down just for the single line break, seemed like he got into some fresh air 2 or 3 times (at least momentarily)

Yeah, not perfect. Very noticeable given the context too. I did notice him getting a bit of treatment leading up to the Burgess try I think it was.

I do notice a lot of people high on the error list are people who have the most impact on a game. Ponga, Tommy Turbo is #1

His missed try won’t come up as an error, but I think my point is that you can afford some people a break when they are contributing so much more in other areas.

When you’ve got a bloody Nene McDonald topping your **** ups there is a problem though.
This is how I look at errors mate. It’s a lot like many other “counting” stats. Only useful comparing players who do the same roles for the same amount of time.

The players with the most touches of the ball are probably going to have more errors in total across the season. It’s just common sense, like how some bloke who plays every minute of the season leads the league in missed tackles every year.

On the flip side, reducing errors from your busiest players is also the quickest way to improve your ball control. If those 5 guys really are your “best players” then they should be able to get the job done without a high error rate.

He’s signed until end of next year but I’d like us to extend him at least 1 more year at this stage. Don’t want clubs to try sign him which they will come November 1st if he has expected already.

At 30 and captain I have no doubt he gives us every opportunity to retain him at a fair price
But one thing we don't want to do is palm him of when it gets raised. If his management brings it up we start talks from there (we could get out in front of it like you suggest even).
He left St G because they tried to slow roll him and put him in the 'we'll get around to you later' pile.

Cam seems unselfish and a standup fair guy, I'm sure he would give us every reasonable chance. I think he flys under the radar considering how much output he gives a team

Boy we have got some goodies from the Merge over the years haven't we - Jeremy Smith, Jack Bird, Matt Prior, Cam
