Not sure how you can that’s not accurate?
I’ve heard/read snippets of contract situation both what I posted & what you posted, unless you spoke to McInnes directly which I doubt you have we are both accurate or not accurate or both of us have NFI.
Alright fine we are both wrong and have NFI

I'm interested to read the snipped you saw of him/Dragons saying Dragons only wanted to spend the 350-400k they could get McCullough for and it being a price issue. I haven't seen that, but I don't read every single thing.
Presumably that is a factor, they may have rushed to get the deal done if he was prepared to take 350-400k.

I was basing what I said off the quotes relating to the conflicting timeframes being the big issue, such as here: https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/02/02/sharks-set-to-lock-in-mcinnes-on-four-year-deal/

"We were well aware throughout our discussions with Cameron and his management that he wanted his future sorted prior to the season commencement," Dragons general manager of football Ben Haran said.

"There's always a process to contractual negotiations, but with our club going through a significant transition it's fair to say that Cameron and the club were working on different time frames.

"We understood why he wanted his future sorted immediately, which has since led to Cameron and his family securing an opportunity elsewhere."

Yeah bort is right, mcinnes has publicly said numerous times he wanted something sorted early and the dragons wanted to wait

Just poor management by the dragons to let a player of his caliber walk, their loss, our gain

He's progressing well considering his injury history, boy he can play the ball quickly though, seems to be a real emphasis on play the ball speed this year and you can see the results it's creating with the space it provides.

The wrestle is starting to creep back in so will be interesting to watch that.

Watch the Storm get away with it when we play them in two weeks. Might require a 2010/Habib road trip to sort the refs out.

Fair enough, I cannot remember if I read any article but Paul Kent (who generally I am not particularly fond of) said similar of what my post was on a episode of NRL 360 last season when McInnes was not re signed by Dragons.

Whilst I don’t take Kent’s comments as gospel, I do think, how he explained it was reasonable on what the Dragons did or their thought process.

Likewise, the link you provided where Dragons representative Ben Harlan quoted, nor do I take his word as gospel, remember at some point last season, at a fan forum night @ Sharks, it was put to Mooney about interest or talks with Finnucane, didn’t he say we weren’t interested or were not talking with him?

At the end of the day, I’m glad we got McInnes & yes, player v player, we got the better one but McInnes likely cost more as well, the figures I provided were speculative, I can only go on media reports of what we supposedly got McInnes for or what he was seeking, as in my post to Gards, I provided an example of what McCullough might be on, again speculation, without viewing his contract terms or McInnes’s

Yep.
This is how I recall it playing out also.
Publicly at least but who knows what happens behind closed doors!

glad someone else saw that. I mentioned elsewhere - his play the ball in the lead up to the aiden tolma try wowsers!!!
that setup the next few plays and you see the space being created down the left side, then brailey fakes it and tolman crashed--stretched....just!

its been said before here years ago. the plays leading up to scoring is dependent on good quality 1%ers in the lead-up. love it. good sides make it happen

McInnes is right at home in our sharks squad and brings something extra. something we needed

Imagine if we still had Woodsy here, would be even more speed created.

Yeh it's funny - during the game didn't really notice Mcinnes doing much on the field. However when I watched the replay, many of our breaks, and getting on an early roll came from his quick runs and play the balls.

they change their hair styles too much mate, makes them hard to recognise or get confused with other players. i thought we had a late team change I didn't know about then relised Cam had combed his hair different

I reckon he’s 3-4 weeks away from playing in the 13 jersey for 80 minutes

or he might be 100 weeks away considering that is Dale's starting spot and he is doing an incredible job there

Mcinnes can do a very good job for us from the bench and can relieve hooker and lock (not at same time lol)

So if that 80 minutes you mention is over the course of 2-3 games no worries

While I do think the intention was and likely still is Dale at prop and Cam at 13 the form of both Rudolf and Braden makes that pretty tricky. Neither deserves to drop. Cam may be a benchie until an injury (or form drop) opens the door for him.

exactly bort, our props (starting and benchies) are going so well and Dale so good in the 13 why mess with it

Give me McGin on the bench over Trindall or Connor then fill the other 3 bench spots with Fifita, Tolman, Hunt

I'm hoping Williams can rediscover his form, has more upside compared to hunt and would kill it with our current play the ball speed, just has that footwork that hunt doesn't have

Knew I was forgetting someone, yes Williams was excellent last season and likely can manage longer stints than Hunt too.

I love how destructive Hunt can be though Williams prob a more balanced / better value to the team selection overall

We cannot drop Fifs or Tolman the way they are playing
