Tough one, with Sifa Ronnie and Teig clicking so well atm I’d be reluctant to move him for 2 games.

In saying that Iro probably covers left centre much better than Burns covers back row (based on trial) so it’s a tough call.
I liked Burns from what i saw @ Dragons.
Not going off trial form - as I wasn't impressed by Tuks from what i saw in trials & Jets

Tuks highlights from last week against warriors would be worth a look if you can find them

For me it makes sense to simply replace Nikora for Billy Burns. Don’t see many other options. Williams off the bench is too important.

Not to mention that Williams has historically kinda struggled when playing second row or lock for that matter. In last 2 seasons though he has filled in there on occasion and done a better job than he used to, guess he just an all round better and more consistent player though.

But better to keep his job simple, run hard tackle hard

Don't see the point of having Burns on the books if we never intend to use him, sure it's not crisis mode or anything but agree Williams has been doing such a stella job coming from the bench in the middle I wouldn't wanna mess with that. Yes Burns is a big step down from Nikora but so is almost any second rower on our roster bar Teig.

Cam or Sifa is another one that could plug a hole but don't wanna mess with their games either. Both doing a good job where they are.

Burns means we minimise messing with positions and combos as much as possible. Bloke will be keen to get stuck in to would think, even if it's just to try and attract another contract somewhere else.

I haven’t minded Burns when seeing him in the past. Hopefully he’s been training well and Fitz has more confidence in him than trials gave us.

McInnes can never play second row again after that dive haha

Yea looked better at previous clubs than he did in the trial game for us a few weeks back. Every kinda rusty in pre-season though

@191cm & 104kg he's bigger than both Nikora & Wilton. Would be handy against Papali'i next week but I think he would be lining up against the smaller John Bateman

burns has been playing 80 mins for the jets and seems to have a versatile skill set. made a couple of errors in that time but has been playing outside reserve grade halfs. found his way to the try line too id probably run with him being a genuine back rower, i mean why else was he signed if not for this situation?

Yeah for just 2 weeks I would be just going the least disruption to the team.

Burns the more natural back rower so seems the more suitable move.

Williams probably next option. I don’t overly consider him a backrower so much these days but because he’s been around the whole team system for longer he can probably slot on that edge for a couple of games. We probably also have Hunt and Uele both coming back and fighting for a bench spot now so Williams there frees up a spot.

Burns in for Nikora causes lease disruptions for the rest of the team and it’s only for two games.

I imagine JC would have gotten the spot if it wasnt for injury.

He was just following what wise old Gandalf said - "fly you fools"!

Haha any time someone suggests putting cam on an edge I have to post this, it's the rules.

Wish I could find the meme video to download
