Sorry guys. I meant to say Braith ANASATA
Last nights game settled many things in the eyes of the public and was an example of how the Roosters juggernaught and ability to influence media and public perception via people such as GOULD has given us a distorted picture.
Anasta played well notwithstanding that he was on a losing side. BIRD marked him all night & was over Anasta like a rash. Quiet simply both in attack & defence Bird was clearly a class above Anasta. Cheap shots from Anasta on Bird did not rattle the true State of Origin 5/8 and quite frankly showed that Anasta's bag of tricks in attack is not as remarkable as many had us believe. Bird simply outclassed in a game where Bird showed some form since returning from injury.
This leads me to believe that all the hype about the Sharks and their so called inability to attack as the media keeps on harping about is all a misguided missile. The Sharks simply win games by being the toughest & rising to the occassion.
Why are we in so many close games? Simply, on paper the Sharks would not rate with their counter - parts in a one to one comparison. However the Sharks nullify their weaknesses by performing as a team and having individuals rise to the occassion by restricting & smothering those BIG NAME players other teams are able to pay the big $.
If League was a game about individuals then the Sharks would not be able to justify their position on the ladder. Fortunately League is not a singles tennis match but a game where team work & guts prevail and on that note the Sharks justify their position at the top.
It is time us Sharks supporters send a message to our fine feathered friends from Oxford Street Bondi and simply say to them "There are no imposters wearing Black, White & Blue" but if they look closer in their own backyard they will find an abundance of these players that they could write about in the back pages of our papers!
