Kaufusi back in for Hazelton starting with Toby. Hunt back to bench impact role, Atko stays as utility, we need cover all around and he can be used in the middle. Big Ham can wait til week 2 or 3 if needed due to injuries or suspensions

Stats from Saturday:

Played 50 minutes
10 runs for 66 m, 26 post-contact metres
2 tackle breaks
9 hitups
Play the ball speed 3.1 s
1 offload
14 tackles, 2 missed, 3 ineffective
1 kick defused
1 handling error

The stats don't look good at all, but he looked better than that. The work was really shared around too, Billy Burns got highest Fantasy points with 55, and Berrell topped tackle count with only 26.

Tuku had 50 mins too:
11 runs for 102m, 38m post-contact
4 tackle breaks
2 offloads
24 tackles, 3 missed
Play the ball speed 4.17s

From memory, a number of them were close to the line crash plays early in the game.

The work was shared around. The best forward aside from Tuku was probably Fearnley with 10 runs for 107m. And both of their metres included kick returns, BHU had no kick returns (I am assuming they are included in overall metres)

There was a couple times today McInnes was the link between Tricky and Hynes as the ball playing lock, Atkinson can also slot in this role well.

Its mad because it can get to Tricky or hynes easier on an edge where they can do damage

McInnes has been a link man pretty much all season as far as I can recall, either between each half or prob more often from a direct pass from brailey and then he shuffles it onto a half

The good thing about Atko being that link between the halves is that he has the agility and footwork to throw the odd dummy and instead of passing in on to the other half if he try squeeze himself between the defensive line and go for the try line or set up a support runner.

McInnes has punched a couple holes like this with a little jink and his strength but doesn't quite have the pace.

Heck Cam could pass it out the back to a roaming Atko even if they are on field at same time

Toby has turned his season around and I believe BHU will play a big part in the finals campaign

BHU can turn it around sure (he's a beast at his best) but I fear it is getting too late now, regular season is over. I don't know if I want to use the finals (of which we might only have 2 games) for a injury prone forward to try find some form and consistency. He has been in and out of the team all year and only had a couple decent / goodish games.

It would be a serious gamble considering we have a bunch of in form fit (mostly) forwards who have been performed quite well all year.
BHU has looked like a project player or something if we didn't know him as a regular from previous seasons.

Even if BHU was to only be given 10-15 mins or whatever I feel give that 15 mins to the forward that can make the most of that time without taking such a risk.

My pack/bench for finals (assuming fit)

8. Rudolf
10. Kafusi
13. Cam

14. Atko (looked good against Manly and injury cover for backline)
15. Hunt
16. Williams
17. Talakai

This bench gives us heaps of power, size and punch but also versatility and contingency (Kafusi, Hunt, Talakai are all capable of playing longer minutes if required)

Reserves:
Nut
BHU
Burns

Need to go all out with the power game against Storm up the middle. They arn't going to let the Nut stroll over for a barge over try. Go hard up the guts then create on our edges. When their middles fatigue start to exploit that around the ruck with Brailey, Nikora, Ronnie ect from further down field.

Only one prop on the bench is a no no

BHU is our premier forward by theory.

He's on the biggest contract and when he's firing he has the biggest impact.

I trust the coaching staff to know whether it's worth having him in the finals squad.

Biggest contract and not even in the finals team.

Injury has been cruel to this bloke.
