The NSW Blues today announced their team for game two of the 2007 State of Orign series, and they made a few notable changes.
Selectors went with a bench that is heavy on forwards as they attempt to match the firepower of the Maroon's pack.
Greg Bird, Ryan Hoffman and Brett Kimmorley come into the team for the dropped Anthony Tupou and injured Knights pair Kurt Gidley and Jarrod Mullen.
Paul Gallen once again missed out on selection.

The NSW team is.

1 Anthony Minichiello
2 Matt King
3 Jamie Lyon
4 Matt Cooper
5 Jarryd Hayne
6 Braith Anasta
7 Brett Kimmorley
8 Brett White
9 Danny Buderus (c)
10 Brent Kite
11 Willie Mason
12 Nathan Hindmarsh
13 Andrew Ryan
14 Luke Bailey
15 Steve Simpson
16 Ryan Hoffman
17 Greg Bird

Hard to believe that Tupou was the only player dropped. I would say that a number of the forwards were very fortunate that the selectors are so conservative.

Good on Kimmorley, he deserves this!

I think it was better that he didn't get the job in the first game as well. A bit of the pressure is off him now. In the game where he threw the intercept pass, the NSW forwards got dominated, and then they all stood up for the second game. I'm glad for Noddy's sake that he didn't have to play behind that forward pack in game one and now they'll be more fired up for this game. Hopefully he can do enough to hold on to the half back spot for the next couple of years, cause we all know Mullen hasn't done enough to deserve it.

He wore the Newcastle number 7 that has to make him a legend, doesn't it? :p

They couldn't pick Joey so they got the next closest thing.

Its great for Noddy and Bird to get in the team - unfortunate they'll be losing, however.

Little unfortunate for the Sharks too, those two could have helped blow the Dragons off the park.

BTW according to Big League from round 12 Kearney is expected back for round 13, as well as Simmo. Just hope Dykes and Thommo are back as well. Thommo would probably get out of his death bed to play this match though.

Hopefully Gallen will make it to be 18th man for the Blues and then Mason doesn't fully recover and in he goes.

How soft were Kite and White in the first game? Get Dougie in there, he wouldn't let anyone down.
