Only issue if Api plays hooker is that he doesn't always play 80, so not sure he can play 80 at origin level. So they might need to have a hooker on the bench potentially to cover some minutes.

McInnes wouldn't be a terrible shout for a bench forward. Plays middle, can cover edge and obviously plays hooker.

Only way Cook isn't getting the spot is if he is injured anyway. Brailey will get a chance but doubt it's this year. Once Api goes to the Tigers he'll be **** haha

His energy and involvement in attack in that opening period was huge , he was looking for opportunities everywhere , scooting around and passing like a madman, head on a swivel. different player this year

interestingly had our slowest PTB speed by far, think he gets man handled and sat all over when tackled and seems to cop the odd push back down and is slow to get to this feet, takes his time a tad dunno
Yeah he gets manhandled for sure. Hence why when he runs he looks for a pass rather than just get dominated in a tackle and lose advantage of his run by giving up slow ptb

I thought Api would have had more guns to feature in that
Well he is next on the list

Most if not all of those players have played all games too, Grant miss two games I think, he's miles ahead.
But their pack is so strong and dominant which helps massively. Throw in that 1st receiver on both sides is a genuine run threat gets markers and A defenders hedging their bets too

33?

What counts as a dummy half run? Does taking a couple of steps and drawing the marker count as a run?

Yoi have to get above 30kph
So club legend, John McMartin would not have registered fro a single Dummy half run in his entire career . He topped out at about 22 kph - like most hookers from the 70es & 80es, but by jingo - he could win a scrum against the feed…

A fact I was unaware of - in 1976 McMartin recieved 10k from a local sharks businessmen to move from Parra - one of the first third party agreements.

That's a fair chunk of coin for back then.

Addo Carr has all the guns mate

While Brailz stats from the Manly game may suggest he took roughly the average amount of runs he takes every game it didn't seem like that and he certainty didn't make any memorable ruck splitting darts up the guts making metres and space as has been a feature all season in previous games.

I don't want this to be taken as a criticism in the context of this game as it isn't and in fact I want to use it to highlight something.

The Manly defense were very compressed in the middle and around the ruck, perhaps in part to the very threat Brailey posses as a runner from dummy half while also showing a lack of anticpation of what we were going to do in attack to them out wide in the first half of that game. All the same I don't think it would have been easy for Brailz to get through as middle defense wasn't really Manly's big issue, it was out wide.

We should not underestimate the role Brailey played from the ruck in getting quick long crisp ball to Hynes / Mozza which allowed those quick spreading backline movements to work and keep the defense off guard or with little time to react. The plays don't work without the input of Brailey there and the defenders he keeps focused on the middle IMO

We didn't need Brailz running game so much against Manly, the play and points came from spreading it wide, early and fast. He made 109 passes in that game

Don't get me wrong i'm loving Brailz scoots out of dummy half this year, they have been quality and remain an important part of his game and our diverse attacking options across the team but when looking at stats you also need to consider how a team is using it's hooker game to game and what is required of the situation

When you're 75kg no point running for the sake of it.
I'm tempted to say there is no better attacking move than a quick PTB... quick play and spread can work, or quick play and hooker to run.
Great individual efforts can get quick PTB but many just come from generated momentum and ruck wins. Grant runs so much because Storm win the ruck and generate momentum through a very strong forward pack.

How often do you see the commentators watch the Rabbitohs and mention Cook hasn't really been involved when Rabbits are struggling but when Rabbits start to find their way in the game Cook suddenly becomes The Beach Sprinter. That's not Cook cbf running the whole first half then suddenly lets loose, that is Cook waiting for his teammates to give him the opportunity to show off his strength.
Cook running when their forwards are on the backfoot, bar a great PTB from someone like Murray or an obvious failure from a marker or A defender, is just a waste of his own time and energy.
(Obviously if game was played on sand different story and he should run every play.)

Like Gards said if we are beating them on the edges Brailey's best move is to get the ball there, if someone like Sifa attracts more attention wide maybe Brailey starts to see his options open up in the middle. This is the kind of adjustment that would have worked well in second half of Manly game but only if our forwards had regained the ascendency.

I was worried I'd posted it for a minute

meeting with boss to discuss @ KPI review - new quotation system has seriously hampered my efficiency and raw output.
I actually think the new quotation system makes it easier to get your quote rate up. I'd be interested to hear Gards how it has made it harder.
