Jayden was in the top half of hookers this year. Blayke has now played a similar amount of games to when Jayden took the next step. I hope we see it from him this season.
He's being held back by being too pretty. Once he has cauliflower ears and a nose that smells sideways we'll see the best from him.

We’d be stupid not to keep Brailey but if a club throws overs at him due to the hooker shortage going around we shouldn’t compete.

Hopefully Api, Brandon and Mahoney being available will distract clubs whilst we negotiate.

His dad works here. All his best mates are here. Prefer to see how he goes with us the next few years than at another club.

Yeah I'd definitely like to keep him but two years on OK money is sensible. He hasn't shown anywhere near enough to be making silly demands at this stage....not saying that's what he's doing btw.

I really don't see it being the end of the world if we lose him - he was in the lower run of hookers this season in my view

Would prefer to see how he goes in season 2022 before waving any new contracts at him but realise that opens the door for other clubs to nab him

We have McGins and that new young bloke from QLD Cup on the books now where as previously there really was no one else that could step into the 9 for us (Tracey & Trindall DO NOT count)

If Fitz as the new coach wants to lock him in for another couple years ASAP I will back Fitz judgement but I wouldn't pay him more for the sake of securing his signature over a rival club., His peformances haven't justified additional financial reward so we are really playing on potential

His older brother got better later on but he hasnt exactly turned into a top 5 gun in his position either. I really hope the new faces and systems brings Blaykes mojo back and he can shine. On his day he can play at a high level and make a big contribution but we haven't seen it enough.

I want to see him put on 10kg. It's the only pre-season stat I care about for BB, he has everything else he needs be our hooker until he hangs up his boots.

Where should the 10kg go, on the arse like Andrew Johns, belly like Artie Beetson, or the neck like the Morris twins?

And probably a few of them came through earlier than they would have if we had cap to use - Ronnie has played more games than Ikuvalu is 6 years younger

That's some smorgasbord Thresh... tough choice. An Andrew John's arse was tough to tackle and provided good thrust... would be handy for young Blayke.

Has to be the schlong surely. Intimidating in scrums when not wearing jocks.

Saw an old game on Fox the other night with Cliff Lyons in the old style shorts

No way am I putting my head in and down for a tackle near that python

Cronulla have moved to take rising star Blayke Brailey off the dummy-half merry-go-round by tabling a new three-year deal.
The NSW Emerging Blues hooker remains on the open market with his current Cronulla Sharks contract due to expire at the end of the 2022 season.

The threat of rival hookers Brandon Smith, Reed Mahoney, Api Koroisau and Josh Hodgson creating a tailspin of demand for class dummy-halves across the NRL is a contributing factor in the Sharks wanting to take Brailey out of the shop window.

The Sharks, led by coach Craig Fitzgibbon, have made it clear to Brailey’s manager David Riolo that they want the NSW under-20s hooker locked-in at the club for at least the next three years.
