You can't say Jayden doesn't provide slick service. Going from what I saw on the weekend he's still in front of Blayke in that area.

jaydens service is grose

his passes are slow and flat

his horror game against the dragons still gives me ptsd

cannot wait for him to leave

I thought Jayden was playing pretty well this year , the shackles were off .
Clever darts from dummy half , crisp ball service .
Not arguing the fact that Brayke is or will be better .
But still feel Jayden is still going to be a top 6 hooker in NRL when he hits his straps in a few years time .
Are you being a tad harsh on your opinion of him like with Chad prior to this season ?

LMAO

yeh a guy who cant kick a ****ing ball and has 5 career try assists in 60+ games is going to be a top 6 hooker

he is and will only be an aldi version of danny levi

In a few years time he'll have nearly 110 games experience - I sure as **** hope he hits his straps by then.

He's played approx 60 games - he should be hitting his straps now.

its slower than vodafone on the sutherland train line

awful, awful service

especially passing to his right, may as well kick it off the ground

Yep, has no confidence with his passing to the right. He always looks there and regardless of what he sees he invariably passes to the left

Certainly something he can work on though.

This is something I don't get - and it might be because I've never played footy myself - but how does an player who has made it to NRL not know how to pass a football either side?

Isn't this a basic fundamental which is taught and honed through the junior ranks?

I'm gunna have to look a little closer because I can't really say either of the brothers is noticeably 'better'. I can see that Blayke with more meat on him probably looks the more viable option long term.

Chad, I suspect it could be as basic as whether a player is right or left handed and I could be wrong, but I reckon Jayden is right handed.

Even though players train to pass to both sides, and physically and theoretically should have the capability to execute the same pass to both sides, perhaps the subconscious kicks in and tells the RH player the RH pass will be better.

Dunno. Plenty of AFL players can handball with both hands and that's far harder than passing a footy.

It should be a pretty basic skill for a dummy half, more so than for any other player on the park.

Yes it’s a right hand left hand thing. It’s very common for a lot of players..

It’s just at hooker it’s more noticeable, it’ll should get better with time and become less noticeable

Passing left and right for a hooker is a must

But passing left and right for the average player is not easy, short balls are fine for everyone, but the longer balls really only the hooker and halves are expected to excel at.

If your RH you’ll spiral left which is more efficient, you’ll generally end over end right which is much slower.

Hookers and HB’s should have a proficient spiral both ways.

Your offhand (left) sits on the front of the ball and directs the pass your good hand (right) is at the back of the ball which propels and turns giving it its spiral. Reverse for lefties.

Weird that Wade plays on the left really because I’m pretty sure he’s a lefty (he kicks with his left)

I could never get a decent left to right pass going with all the practice.. think it’s either natural to pass with your offhand or not.

Rep footy it is- from about 14's up. Hooker/Halves will simply not get thru if they can't proficiently pass both ways. Even the forward's are expected to pass almost equally, both ways.

People normally don’t pick a side to play based on preferred direction to pass a ball.

Generally your step would decide that, and to a lesser extend the preferred ball carrying arm
