I know plenty of people hate Supercoach stats (https://www.nrlsupercoachstats.com/), but for what it's worth:

Nah - that would require them to accept that NRL players, staff and coaches might actually know more about the game than they do.

That won't happen. I fully expect a long list of "only won it because" posts. E.g.

Whole team was ****, so having BB win it is just an example of how bad the year was
Nicho had an off year
WK got injured
BB is Fitz's love child
Bunch of injuries so a bloke who played every game won it by default

... or whatever.

The last thing that would ever happen on this forum is someone saying "oh, since the coach and players think he is doing a great job, maybe there are things I am missing. I may not be the expert I thought I was on how hookers should play".
Yep. The mental gymnastics will be quite entertaining for sure.

If people think someone else should have won the award, that’s fine, I agree.

But I think what last night says the most is - there was no way he was ever close to be dropped, as some were hoping

I just don’t know how he can be close to the clubs best when he offer so little in attack and is consistently ordinary against the best teams.

I just think we need to accept that professional players, coaching staff and analysts have a different view of what individually contributes to a teams success than us as fans do.

I don't know who voted for him or how many, but a lot of the squad must be happy with his service, decision making and workload. In his position you'd have the opportunity to piss a lot of your playing group off so he must be doing something right by them!

Yep. Could have given the award to any of the top nominees and it would have been deserved.

I do.

The coach and other players notice things that you don't.

The synchronised posting should put to rest the idea that we're the same person...

Nup, they are wrong. Clearly not the best player over the season.
