There was one play towards the end where he went left and it was just the absolute worst option he could have picked. Rest of it he was ok but being ok only gets you so far.
I remember this

Hynes was waiting for it

Would've been even better if the ref gave him some penalties/6 again for markers being off. He took a scoot where there were 3 scrambled "markers" that all had a go at him & nothing.

To be fair, he got a 6 again for ruck infringement around the 17th minute.
But I agree he never gets the calls he should.

Good to see him run a little more but needs to sharpen up service
2 of the passes that hit the deck weren’t from dummy half. They might have been ****, but technically not “service”.

Without his defensive efforts in the final 10 the Sharks lose that game.

Should still be dropped/rested/keel-hauled for passing to Tracey too much and sucking more than any sucky player ever sucked.

I remember in particular his effort to chase & tackle Cam Murray who had made a break w/ Alexander complaining that South backs were nowhere to be seen.
He was very good yesterday.

Got the forwards on the front foot but his service and decision making is atrocious
The start was poor and had something like 3-4 passes hit the turf.
luckily we got a good bounce and they didn’t result in a turnover.
but after that, he played pretty well, so credit when due.

i would still like a bit of a kicking game from him, both long from Dummy half (40/20’s) and short stabbing attacking kicks 5m or so out.

What did he use to get the forwards on the front foot? Encouraging words?

When Brailey was choosing to go away from Hynes earlier in the season it was to Moylan and you didn't notice because it worked.

Didn't get that one either. Probably promised them free cabbage rolls.

no, seemed like he used his brain and what little bit of talent he possesses to step from dummy half and actually engage the marker

small steps for him, but at 25 turning 26 the potential we thought he had as a toddler is starting to come out, 1 in every 20 games
