I'm not arguing the bold, I agree, but I disagree with your examples.
I don't think Starling, Robson, Reed nor Egan are that great when they aren't winning the ruck and things aren't going their way. And I think it shows in their good/bad games.
I think there's 3 hookers in the game that I'd say turn the tide for their team when the chips are against them. Grant, Cook and Api.
You're not just talking the best hookers here, you're talking some of the best players in the game.
You could substitute the exact same rationale to just about every position on the field. My point being that great players change games from any position, and there aren't many. Walker, Munster, Latrell, Dafita, Cobbo...
To say Brailey isn't good enough because he's not one of the top 5% of NRL players is just being greedy.
