Yeah nearly included Wilson but just haven't seen/heard enough about him so just went the 'main' three.
Wilson is higher rated than both Taj and Healey. Imo Healey is better currently, but Wilson is a year younger.

The only reason Taj played any SG Ball games in 2022 is because Wilson was injured.

Well there you go, should be a good shitfight for our next hooker spot then.
Concern is Blayke being on quite a long contract means we lose the first one who is ready to start moving into NRL. However the first one ready isn't necessarily the best one and presumably will still be worse than Blayke for a year or two after being 'ready' anyway.

If the first one ready is obviously the best of the bunch that might be something we need to figure out.

Would you think of hitting Teig with the short ball when we're on their line basically a second rowers crash play?

It's a bit like the Stonestreet talk tbh. Those guys aren't competing for Blayke's spot. They are competing for Berrell's. Top 30 and Jets starter.

I was thinking they would rotate Wilson and Healey in Flegg, but given that Wilson actually played the back end of last year against men in the Illawarra comp maybe they send him back there or to the Jets as the bench hooker.

Sorry if you've said this before Burgo but can you give an age rundown of these guys?

Taj Brailey is born in 2004. Turns 19 this year. Second year of SG Ball.

Kobie Wilson is born in 2003. Turns 20 this year. First year of Flegg.

Sam Healey is born in 2002. Turns 21 this year. Second year of Flegg.

Thanks mate. So it wouldn't be too far to say if one of Wilson/Healey were to have a great season in cup, they could be close to snagging a utility role if there was a view they were the future at 9? Maybe moreso Wilson by your comments, but given he's the year youngers possibly 2 years.

There seems to be a lot of good young talent in the squad atm, moreso than we've seen in recent times anyway. It will be an interesting watch as to how we manage these guys into grade. You've got to find some balance between their eagerness for opportunity and not rushing their development.

Not to far off to think one of them could snag a spot in 2024. Berrell will obviously be the starter there, but injuries etc. happen so maybe they carry Wilson as a benchie and he gets a few starts before the end of the year.

Also have to remember that last year's Flegg coach is this year's Jets coach. He will already have a relationship with both Healey and Wilson. Even though Kobie was SG Ball last year I believe he was training with the Flegg squad at times.

Do you mean snag a spot in cup in 2024? or First grade? Appreciate the insight, i've been wondering more about how a few guys will transition in so I'm about to add some posts in their relevant threads.

I mean a top 30 or dev spot for 2024, and taking over as full time Jets hooker. Basically they are trying to take Berrell's job off him.

Geez Fitz must be a good coach. We have powderpuff forwards, a garbage 9, broken down 6 who can’t play big games, a fullback who can’t tackle, one centre who is a brain explosion waiting to happen and one who should be playing second row, and a fullback playing halfback.

Still finished second though. The locks and wingers must be carrying this team.
The wingers are not that good either. We are constantly talking about moving them.

Made a nice run maybe 10 out from HT and just stopped and went backwards looking for a runner.

I don't hate him but that it a frustrating part of his game

Yeah but he’s like 80kg and not a world class beach sprinter. He gets man handled for a slow PTB if he goes himself.

Damned if he does damned if he doesn’t.

Support runners please
He could have made an extra 10-15m, I don't buy this quick PTB stuff when there's that much ground to make

You watch Mahoney, Starling and Cook today… their presence is very well known in the middle

Brailey is a tier down from these guys but we can’t have him be there for too long, let’s hope he is motivated to want to get better
