To not lock him away for life in a state of the art NRL prison is basically condoning it!

They haven’t taken a hard enough stance previously and now they are seeing more and more cases.
I couldn’t say for certain but had they taken a harder stance earlier then players may pull their heads in a bit more and we may not be seeing so many issues arising (as we have over the last few months).

They haven't with Barba. I know there's footage, but no charges.

Yeah I guess. Has Barba been charged? Might make things different, also the fact he's a repeat offender. Dwalks only played with prescription drugs before...

Did they wait for wightons case to finish first? I honestly always forget with this ****. Probably because the nrl are incredibly inconsistent.

Pretty sure Wighton copped his ban before his court case was finished.

I just worry Walker the grub will get away with it.

If I recall the Raiders said they wouldn't discipline Wighton until legal proceedings had finished but then the NRL saw the video and stepped in. Could be imagining that though....

That sounds about right to me.

It has been said already, but seeing articles about Barba popping up still and the image they use is of him in a Sharks jersey, it is pissing me off. He is/was contracted to the Cowboys during his latest stuff up, so that is the image they should be using for articles. To publish the article with an image of him in other jerseys other than the club he was at during the current screw up is poor form. I'd argue that it could push away potential sponsors and it damages the Sharks image further when a player, who isn't even under contract to us, is being shown in our gear.

Good reasons behind selecting which jersey to show Barba in...
Was contracted to Cowboys
Last played for St Helens and was ESL Man of Steel
Most well known for playing for Bulldogs winning 2012 Dally M

Reason chosen
Because **** Cronulla that's why

The other option is Broncos but he did sfa so not using those photos is obvious

That about sums it up. There are plenty of other things for the club to be concerning itself with, sure. However, I cannot help but think this is still something that needs addressing. In this instance the club should be requesting that images of him in Sharks gear is not used as he is no longer a contracted player of theirs and it is perhaps damaging to the clubs image and brand. If a potential sponsor were perhaps looking to be apart of the Sharks organisation, and yet their is articles going around about a player with images of him in Sharks gear, then they might think otherwise about dealing with the club.

Post mad-Monday but pre-sharks self reporting do we think Barba appears mostly in dogs gear?

Has there been any mention of whether the Roosters were drug tested after Grand Final celebrations last year?

Also, I know every team is tested - but are they targeted straight after their grand final celebrations?

I'd be surprised if Barba was the only player to have succumbed to the temptation of marching powder during a 3 day+ bender after winning a Grand Final.

It was Barba’s second strike though Thresh. There may well have been others but if they weren’t caught a second time we’ll never know.

"Integrity unit boss Nick Weeks warned clubs that players would undergo stringent testing at the completion of their season. According to the report, most of the clubs which missed out on finals football this season have already been tested."

September 2016. Nobody but Barba to blame. Everyone was warned.

Every player is in a position to be tested, but not all players are.

If you've had a previous positive test, the chances are pretty high that your going to be constantly tested thereafter.

Barba knew the risks
