i dont get the negativity towards fitler playing... it has achieved its desired result... every club forum, leagueunlimited, twitter, facebook ect are talking about it

type in auckland 9's tournament and there are links to fitler wanting to play. its drumming up the publicity of it

remember, this is what is replacing the all stars game, and the aboriginal side of the game would be filthy if the all star game was trashed for something that wasnt successful.

and for the people who think fitler will intensionally go out and injure a player, please, get a grip. they guy was a former australian captain for **** sake.

the inly injury fitler needs to worry about, are his unconditioned 41 year old hamstrings.

i for one am greatful the roosters wont be fielding a full team in this tournament, they would give us a flogging if we came across them

Spot on it's great for the promotion and great for holding the Roosters back.

Also correct that Fittler isn't the type to go out there to take a player out.

Waits for Gallen to do a knee in the 9s and not surface til Origin 1. Then get suspended til origin 2. Then get injured in origin 2 and miss club games till round 22……..

But Fittler might hurt Todd…………..

don't understand how it's good for the Roosters tbh. It's for a tournament overseas so the Roosters won't attract new fans to the games he plays in. He's been retired for a while now so would be irrelevant to the young supporter who might still be making their mind up on who to support.
s great for the promotion

Also correct that Fittler isn't the type to go out there to take a player out.

No hate man, but you are the biggest sheep. Have an opinion of your own instead of just getting others facts and putting them together.. It's great for the game, it's great for the roosters and it's great for opposition teams.

Considering I'm talking about the standard of play not the promotional ability one would think I'm refering purely to playing ability.

I'm struggling to see the benefit for the Roosters of a tournament in Auckland having more people come through the gate, in what way do you think reducing their chance of winning benefits them?

Bringing in Fittler is hardly going to win them a heap of new fans, people that aren't fans of Rugby League won't care that some old guy is going to play.

So what's the benefit for them?

A benefit for the competition maybe but there is no benefit for them.

Might be good for the tournament, don't see what it does for the Roosters though.
Too this post I agreed as shown below.

No hate man but you need to learn how to read. I said it was good for promotion the whole time I said it was bad for the Roosters standard of play and them as a club gain nothing from it.

Also you need to learn how to quote a post.

You have been on this site for three years now and you still can't read posts or quote them.

In regards to the bolded (in your last post thought I best clarify that for you) it's great for the game and for the opposition teams but not for the Roosters as shown by the fact that you are still yet to name one reason why it would be good for the Roosters.

Anyone think we have a real show? I can see us getting past the group stage, but we just don't have the backs to win this kind of competition.

Can anyone convince me we are a hope? The prize money would be nice.

The only way I see us going close is if we take it seriously and the other sides don't IMO. So many sides out there that will murder us in this.

Pretty much agree, however I think our forwards have a bit to offer in this format. More space across the park might help open up some gaps for the more mobile forwards too. Particularly if we can get some good offloads. Carney is also capable of causing some problems too. He's pretty quick and can find the space if it opens up.

Hopefully we'll take in a game plan that throws caution to the wind a bit. My main concern is that we will just try and grind, as usual.

I'd particularly like to see them play Gardner.

Gardner, Carney and our mobile forwards are capable of serious damage, I just don't think we have enough all up.
