Pretty funny seeing people rate players chances in the team based on the nines. Sure - there are a few promising youngsters - but their performances against Manly last week will have a lot more to do with their chances than their performance on the weekend.

Not really about rating players, line breaks off loads etc are all exagerated because of the format.
But man on man tackle, vision, quick hands etc isnt something u find just for the 9s.
In all areas Ayshford was better than Wright.

Engadine, gods country.
Your merchandise sold out over here.

Your team got massive Roars and standing ovations from the Kiwis as they walked around the ground.

The Sharks have made tens of thousands over and above the prize money.

They could make a half million dent in their debt come this time next year by repeating this years top four finish and bringing more jerseys and flags to sell to Kiwis.

was great to hear that the boys did a lap and thanked the crowd unlike other teams im lead to believe. we did alot of work in the week leading up to the tournament as well which is great to see.

They were class.
One of my favorite moments was when the Sharks appeared...they were the first team to stroll out of the tunnel to the warm up area.

The Roar went up......Gallen Looked up to see who the crowd were screaming at....the rest of the players looked stunned , bemused, uncertain of what was happening.

Gallen turned to the Crowd and started clapping......the place went nuts..........the Sharks boys started springing in their steps and soaking it up......they were pumped by the time they reached the other end of the ground they were like a Roman legion returning to Rome in victory.....high fiving the sea of arms leaning over the crowd barriers

Every time they came out thereafter they got a big ovation.....whereas some of the other teams who weren't working the crowd got polite cheers.

That's why they sold more Jerseys than twelve other NRL clubs at the ground.

haha well you can't swap clubs after eighteen years , that's akin to high treason amongst us hardcore NRL fans.
I have taken a shine to the Sharks after Bukuya and Townsend agreed to come here. Watched your campaign last year 'assessing Bukuya' from the arm chair.
The way they conducted themselves through the entire Nines concept ( they put more in than any other flying Gal and Carney out to talk with those idiots on Seven sharp ) it paid off.
If they had of made that final they would have been cheered on by the mob like no other Australian team....irrespective they have won a lot of fans over here and the supporters base could make a lot of money in NZ.

I think this is critical. That you guys and the Broncos act on the Massive sports market here that doesn't like the Warriors and the Kiwis.
Also there are plenty of Warriors fans who like to keep a secound team in their support / spending $$ on apparel.
In the 80's Manly , Bulldogs , Eels made millions in Jersey sales in NZ.....until the Warriors were misjudged as the reason not to market Aussie clubs here anymore.

Any Warriors fan will tell you they can name at least five mates who hate the Warriors and Like it when another club beats them.

Paul Gallen has to take a lot of credit , Kiwis love / hate tough bastards and he put the Sharks on the Love side of the Ledger.

Your Ceo was there watching the Shark Worship going on at the Ground.

You guys will have it covered.

we should take a game a year over there each year to increase our supporter base... oh that's right we did that and the board got hammered for it from the coach, players and certain other vocal interested parties because we didn't have a home game for 6 weeks... like it was their fault on how the draw came out

I'm guessing you're talking about the Canterbury game up in Gosford last year? I don't have an issue with taking a home game away, but you don't take a home game away against someone like Canterbury, Souths, St George, Parra (when travelling well) who will all draw good crowds at home. Stupid game to take away.

The fact he was talking about taking a game to New Zealand sort of rules out Gosford though.

He has about the six game thing I believe but he isn't wrong about the stink it caused.

Doesn't bother me as long as not against one of the big drawing Sydney clubs.

im not fussed. location or opposition dont bother me as long as the dollars are right.

i would be against taking a team to a location if we got paid less than we would at a home game, but we generally dont take games away unless the coin is good.
