I'd take a punt on Idris but not for big bucks. Maybe offer him 320k per year for 2 years.

I'm assuming a few clubs will offer him well over 400k per year though.

People have said they want Idris for a big back. I personally question if he will be a back again. I also struggle to believe he would be a better centre than Bird/Beale/Ricky.

If idris publicy states hes got his life on track he's a lying sack of ****. I wouldnt take a risk on the guy

Cronulla have earmarked Damien Cook as a potential long-term replacement for retiring hooker Michael Ennis.


The Sharks missed out out on the signature of unwanted Tigers veteran Robbie Farah, who will join South Sydney next season. The Rabbitohs will soon trumpet the acquisition after the Tigers agreed to foot about $750,000 of the contract money owed to Farah for next season. That move is likely to trigger a merry-go-round in the hooking ranks during the off season that will have ramifications for a number of players and clubs.



Cameron McInnes, who has been in and out of first grade this season, is poised to be released by the Rabbitohs and is tipped to end up at St George Illawarra. The Dragons are expected to finally get their man after McInnes previously reneged on an agreement to join the Red V. Long-time Dragons hooker Mitch Rein is without a home after failing to come to terms on an extension and will need to dramatically drop his asking price to remain in the NRL.


Cronulla already have two promising dummy halves coming through their junior ranks and have signed Manaia Cherrington from Wests Tigers. However, they are short a top-liner to fit into an established spine already containing James Maloney, Chad Townsend and Ben Barba.

Yeah I wouldn't mind Cook. Out of what's available at the moment he's among the best of what's on offer for 2017.

I still prefer Brown, but Cook would be good as well.

Idris would be more of a hope that Tony Williams. He actually tackles. Just never ever fit. He managed to gain baby weight every year in his 20's.

if you believe fox sports indris will sign for a minimum contract with incentives...to me that is a given...whats the worst that could happen, he ends up in reserves but if he kicks on we have a big mongrel centre.
And while we all love with our current centres imo we are 1 big bopper centre away from a premiership....so why not give it a crack

We do not need Idris or for that matter any backs - we need forwards urgently !
