Looking at his pictures, it does look like him. I presumed the mystery person was a ground announcer or part of the entertainment.

I tweeted him 'UP UP CRONULLA!(?)'

He favourited, retweeted, and responded with 'YEAH BOOII!'

Yeo re-signs with Penrith. Thought he could have been a viable Lewis replacement.

Apparently Tariq Sims has an option to test the market. Would be keen. Get all three brothers here.

Read an article today where he said he wants to stay at Newcastle as long as they want him. God knows why.

What's the story about wade getting in trouble with the coppers

misdemeanor offensive language apparently

will get more press than Mitch Pearce though because he is a shark

Loved Cam Smiths comments on it when asked how the headline marred a good weekend of footy. His response was along the lines of " Its only a headline because you people make it one. You didn't print anything about the week leading up to the game where the players all visited schools and hospitals and got out in the community in a positive way"

I don't care if I'm criticised for this but as a journalist by trade and a senior manager in the mainstream media (and an obsessed Sharks supporter) I'm so sick of the argument that Cam Smith makes. It is utter garbage that it is the media's fault.

Yes I agree the Wade Graham story is a nothing beat up and the fact very few other outlets have followed it up shows that's the case. However plenty of stories have been written and broadcast about the positive things players do, they are weekly and even Wade had positive press about the fact he took a year to discover his indigenous heritage. There are stories all the time about charities, schools and hospital visits, but the reality is the public don't care so they don't attract attention. Forums like this rarely devote a thread to a story about a player visiting a hospital. The media responds to what the public is interested in and it doesn't matter whether it is sport or politics, bad news, controversy etc gets people talking. Why is it that mainstream news websites are dominated by trashy stories about reality TV and Z grade models? I assure you journos have no interest in writing those, but it's done because they attract web clicks, bottom line.

If anyone is to blame it's the nature of human interest.

Sorry rant over, it just really cheeses me off.

But cam smith makes a good point. Countless pages of **** about players having a few too many. And nothin about all the community work.

Journos kiss up to these players but write stories that are negative far too often (not saying these players arent in the wrong).

Wont be long until more players are giving journos the darius boyd treatment

Waffle! - Quite a few of your lot get away with murder!

Print anything they want without substance and are immune to natural justice. Scum.

Now this is a far more rational take on the subject

I actually agree with shire1976. Good stuff largely isn't news because its what we expect.

But I strongly think that those in the sports media should spend a ****load more time writing about sport and a whole lot less about all the peripheral ****. (Except, perhaps, for taking on sports administrations because they're an important check on that power.)

Example: Cricinfo. They produce regular content, day after day, all round the world, with many fewer games being played than the NRL or AFL. Almost all of what they churn out is interesting, not dumbed down, opinionated without being biased and entirely relevant to the game. There do profile pieces but they're balanced. They call out poor performances but they admit it when they're wrong. The writers' personalities come through but the articles aren't about the writers.

I honestly don't understand what is so hard about it - just write about whatever friggen interests you about the game and chances are it will interest your readers too if you do it well.

Agree. And it's not just the print media, channel nine's coverage is absolutely horrendous as well. More ridiculous inane banter than analysis of what's going on.
