Hoppa really dogged it this year. He was piss-weak. His first year back he was mixed but that was to be expected I guess, but this season there was no excuses. He got the chance at fullback, he was completely dog **** and lazy there, was moved to centres again but was dog **** and lazy there, and was defending on the wing because he can't tackle all of a sudden.

His heart's not in it any more, definite no thanks imho.

Can you blame him though?

After experiencing the thrilling highs of conducting a recruiting drive on behalf of a cult, it would be a pretty lame existence being a first grade footballer.

Completely agree - 1st grade is about the chicks and networking with bikies for class A products...if religion takes that aspect away then he may as well be a plumber.

All the natural talent in the world is useless if your heart's not in it. I'm not saying that's the case with him but something doesn't look right. It's a big risk unless he comes cheapish imo. Not worth the risk otherwise.

Hoppoate was a great player on the back of an even better backline at Manly. The guy was never a proven centre and I don't believe ever will be.

Simple way to look at it is would he make us a better team if signed ? Answer is no imo

I think it would be a bad decision to buy another play who doesn't know what position in the backline he should be playing when we already have about 3 or 4 of those types of players in our ranks.

You guys are nuts. He's a 23 year old Origin centre/winger with no injury troubles FFS. He's had an ordinary year in a crap side but there's no reason to suggest that he won't revert back to the mean and improve over the next 3-4 years like almost all 23 year olds do.

You'd be deadset terrible investors.

To be fair on that part he hasn't deserved to be an Origin player since before his break from the game.

I'm not fussed either way really. He hasn't been the same player since he returned but you can still see his class in the odd glimpse of brilliance.

At the right price he would be a very good (even great) signing, it's just a matter of what price you would have to pay.

There's also no reason to suggest he will be any good either.

You'd probably invest my money into nokia phones if i gave you the chance, they were good a few years ago too.
