We should work to make Val and his family locals before his next contract - get rid of any of that homesick possibility.

Jack Bird I'm confident we can retain as a centre/backrow - possibly Lewis replacement if he bides his time. There are a lot of good edge backrowers going around which plays in our favour I hope. But he's a footballer and they're worth a bit more I reckon.

I think we should give bird a decent contract and also up holmes as a good deed. Youve been good to us and think youre worth more so take a pay rise before your next contract

I get what you're saying but there is so much more to managing the cap than flicking a few extra bucks to a bloke for a good deed.

Both should be high priority but mate no doubt.

Vals contract expires at 2017 meaning his new contract will commence at the start of the new TV deal. His manager will be encouraging him to wait it out me thinks

Kalifa Faifai Loa has two games to earn a new NRL contract with the Gold Coast.

The 25-year-old winger says uncertainty over his future at the Titans in 2014 and a desire to support his family following the death of his father last month is behind his successful comeback to first grade.

Faifai Loa is in contract negotiations and is unsure if his future will be on the Gold Coast.

“I don’t know what I’m doing next year so hopefully the last couple of games will get me a *contract here or anywhere else,” he said.

“Ever since my dad passed away that’s been my motivation … every game’s for him.”

I'd throw a line out and see if we catch him. Can be a beast on his day.

I wouldn't be going nuts over the opportunity but worth a chat.

A few seasons ago I was or would have been all for it, with our backs & where we are now, pass for me.

In your head, rent free
id take fai fai loa

that would make me want val at fullback. and he would be superb depth again.

we will probably be losing ayshford gards and mitch brown, so we need solid players and he is that.

on the warriors forwards whose name sucks to spell, yes please. yes ****ing please

Loa hasn't kicked on like I thought he would have but I'd still take him on a under contracts ;)

Worst case scenario is he provides us with good depth since our other depth winger is a walking injury
