Hodkinson seems to be plan B

I would prefer Maloney to groom tracey

there are pro's and cons on the halves available, but Maloney just ticks a few more boxes for me
good call, can take over the goal kicking as well
I still stand by my call on Friday, I'd go the risky avenue and get sandow

In your head, rent free
And hasn't Hodkinson's dodgy knee

not sure mate, but his boot is still huge and he is a goal kicker, he is also a general, and very composed

I would not complain if he turned up next year, but as I have said, my preference is Maloney with tracey being groomed

Connor Tracey is going to be a very good player in the future no doubt, which is why I am leaning towards giving Maloney a bumper 2 year

Do you really think Maloney would go for a 2 year contract? Will probably be his last big pay day so I'd think he'd be trying to ink 3-4 to see out his career.

Thanks for the insight buddy.

Would be happy with either one but see Hogdko as a player who would suit as more.

Either would make me smile. Both established first graders who know their games. I also like Sezer though, who I think is the most likely to change clubs now.

No reason we couldn't groom Tracey with Hodkinson at 7. Its not like we'd offer him a lifetime deal. I've been leaning towards Maloney because I hink hes a more complete player but Hodko is the sort of 7 that Flank likes and already has a good relationship with Barba.

Gonna be hard to prize him from the Dogs though. They don't let many go.

By the way, there were a few handy props who played reserves last weekend.

Put simply, if the Dogs offer him anything reasonably close to what we're offering, say 100K less, he'll stay. But I don't think the Dogs have the space in their cap to compete with us.

Aren't the Roosters eying off Hastings for a long-term position in the halves?

If that's the case I'd be looking hard at Maloney. The Roosters probably wouldn't go in that hard to try and retain him. Take the low hanging fruit and perhaps get value for money on a very handy player.

What about sign both Sandow and Maloney. That would be an awesome halves pairing.

1. Holmes
6. Maloney
7. Sandow
9. Ennis
14. Barba

I wonder whether we should give Val Holmes a crack at the 7 or is he too green to throw him in there? That kid is gifted.

having someone like barba with the attacking ability he has sitting on the bench would be a massive waste, he needs to play 80 minutes in the halves or at fullback, unless the barba at 5/8 experiment fails there is no need to spend huge money on 2 halves

Bingo. Sign one of Maloney, Hodkinson or Sezer to pair with Barba

If we sign any one of Hodkinson, Sezer or Maloney I will be stoked.

Not really sure who I would prefer out of the three, they are all around about the same level.

Not a fan of the Sandow idea. He's too hit and miss for my liking as a result I don't think he and Barba would be a very stable halves pairing. I would still take him if we missed on the three above though.

I've always said I prefer Sezer but I don't really mind which one of the three we (hopefully) get now. We just need one of them.

I'm a fan of Sandow but agree, not to partner Barba. If we didn't have Barba I'd be very keen to sign him.

I wonder if our so-very-public recent affiliation with DCE will come back to bite us in terms of negotiating contracts with other halves. I wonder if DCE has lifted the asking price of all the off-contract halves? I can just see it now: player managers telling us 'but you were going to offer DCE over 1million a season, so surely you can afford my client's request of X'?
