Austin would be a good utility off the bench. Nothing more, nothing less.

Agree. But he is a talented player.

If you had a genuine half back in your side he would be a decent 5/8 choice. Wouldnt partner up well with brown imo. And he and holmes are what we need to build around.

Nothing wrong with him being in a bench spot in the right side, some coaches use the utility well

If it's true that Moltzen has been told to shop around he must be feeling great about ****ing Saints over to stay at the Tiges

Hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire since then I guess though

I've never really bought into the Moltzen hype. Decent player but I don't think he is anything special. He is capable of the odd very good game though.

Agree but I don't think he's leaving to play for another team on the bench, he'd be after a starting spot for sure.

If we didn't already have Lewis and Graham in the ball playing backrow department I'd be happy with Austin as a third play maker at lock. His only spot on this team would be on the bench which he wouldn't come here for.

yeah i realise that, but IMO he is gunna be leaving to who for a starting spot?

Raiders comes to mind, Sam Williams going back there next year, Cornish coming up, McCrone, looks like Campo is goneskies.

Tigers are a team on the up, with Tedesco, Simona, Noufoluma etc all out injured, they are a lot like us. He stays there even as a bench option with Moses and Brooks in the halves, he has more chance of playing deep semi finals footy than going to Canberra and being the guy copping blame when they lose

Sam Ayache's huge heart for Sharks

SAM Ayache's rugby league tentacles spread across many spheres in rugby league.

Ayache has been involved for more than two decades as a junior player in coaching, administration, marketing and corporate levels.

He was appointed the Sharks corporate sales manager several months ago.

Then there is his role as football operations manager with Kingsgrove Colts Rugby League Club's team in the Ron Massey Cup competition.

He has worked at the Newcastle Knights as an assistant coach to Rick Stone in the NSW Cup before moving to the Sydney Roosters in a statistics and marketing role.

Ayache, 38, of Kogarah, said that being involved in rugby league at so many levels had created so many great chances in helping players fulfil their NRL dream.

Ayache said his links with all levels of the game, especially in the juniors, had helped him in his job at the Sharks.

"Being involved at the grassroots level has helped as it gives you an understanding dealing and working with clubs," he said.

The Ron Massey Cup is run by the NSW Rugby League and the Colts play their home games at Kogarah Jubilee and Hurstville ovals.

Ayache said that Cronulla chief executive Steve Noyce helped him establish the Kingsgrove Colts Ron Massey Cup team in 2011 and created an affiliation with the Sydney Roosters under-20s team which has developed continually over the past four years.

"I have had fantastic support from Kogarah MP Cherie Burton, Ian Todd (Kingsgrove RSL), Chris Thomas (Kingsgrove Hotel), Adam Hartigan (NYC coach), St George Junior League and Steve Edge at the Dragons," Ayache said.

"They have played a part in ensuring our club and players are given the chance to assist them in reaching their goals in rugby league, considering the limited operational budget we have compared to other clubs in the competition."

Can the Sharks finish the year with a win against this Saturday?

FINAL GAME

The Sharks final match of the season is against Wests Tigers at 3pm this Saturday at Leichhardt Oval.

The Sharks under-20s team play their final match of the season against Wests Tigers at 10.40am this Saturday at Leichhardt Oval.

The Sharks have used 36 players in the NRL this year for all sorts of reasons: injuries, retirements and ASADA player suspensions. The disruptive season has taken its toll.

OFF-SEASON

The Sharks preparations for the 2015 season will begin during the first week of November. The full-time squad will resume after the break when the season finishes this weekend.

OFF-CONTRACT

There are 17 Sharks players off-contract and their futures will be resolved in the next few weeks.

They are Jonathan Wright Tinirau Arona, Reece Davidson, Nathan Gardner, Bryce Gibbs, Eric Grothe, Daniel Holdsworth, Penani Manumalealii, Sione Masima, Mark Mexico, Michael Morris, Pat Politoni, Tim Robinson, Junior Roqica, Tupou Sopoaga, Scott Sorenson, Siosaia Vave and Jonathan Wright.

Are we negotiating with any of those off contract guys? Or are we waiting for Shane to get back? Pretty keen for us to tie up Arona, Sopa and Politoni before other clubs come sniffing.
