I don't know why all talking about signing a halfback for next year. It's going to be Robson and no one else unless he gets injured. Have to resign ourselves to that fact.
I think Littlejohn has play 5/8 a bit too. I'd like us to have Robson plus 3-4 other guys to produce a halves combination from.

Rumour is Carney back with the sharks on a 1 year 250k deal. My source is generally on the money

WOW .. Would the NRL somehow feel that there was an overaction in the first place ?

Won't happen. Imagine the media ****-storm, the club can't afford that at the moment. Especially for 250k. The club needs to move on from him.

So many clubs seem to be signing players at the moment, sometimes doubling up in positions, and we struggle to just get one! Why would Sam Hoare want to stay at the cowboys if they've signed McGuire and Tim Glasby to add to Scott and Tamou?

It'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

I just heard the same rumour from a decent source. What a ****fight in the media that will bring, cant see it happening tbh.

I think the club sacked Carney to teach him a lesson, more than for good PR. They could justify signing him for one year on probation, and on less money so he's not being rewarded for bad behaviour.

Facts are he didn't break the law or post the picture himself. How is Hurrel still playing and Carney not?

I'd rather we didn't re sign him at all though. But happy if he proves me wrong.

The carney rumour could explain Hamptons feet suddenly feeling all warm and toasty.

I think it'd be OK personally. The media and public alike seemed to have quite a bit of sympathy for him, and us turfing him then bringing him back could be seen as a bit of tough but fair love.

No idea if the source is reliable though.

Hm, I half hope that is correct. The media will jump all over it, sure. But the club had a knee-jerk reaction in sacking him originally I think. Drop his pay a lot, re-sign him and get on with it.

Classic Sharks would be re-signing him for more than what he was on.

Don't rule it out.

Not a bad move if true.

Tough love as someone stated further up. We get back a marquee player on 250k and put some anti-partying clauses in his contract.

Also a strict 'no bubbling' clause with regular urine tests to see if they contain any urine.

I Think it would be good to have him back again with some built in safe guards for Him and The club. It would show we care and are prepared to help him with his alcohol issues.

Like proper support in a real fairdink Rehab not a mickey mouse 2 week quick fix that will never work for anyone , More community work and built in clauses reveiwed yearly

You can't send someone to rehab who doesn't think they have a problem.
