FROM one NRL bad boy to another; the Cronulla Sharks are eyeing Robert Lui to replace sacked five-eighth Todd Carney.

In a fascinating subplot to Friday’s clash against Lui’s North Queensland at Remondis Stadium, Cronulla staffers have spoken internally about making an approach to the controversial Cowboys playmaker.

Sports Confidential can confirm Lui’s management has been approached - on an informal basis - about the off-contract 24-year-old’s desire to return to Sydney.

I will not renew my membership if this happens. What a hypocritical thing to do. Sack Todd and hire Lui????? Are you ****ing kidding me??? Lui did something far worse then what Todd ever did. I really hope this isn't true.

Don't forget, the journo's get their "scoops" from out of here!

If that's the case, Massoud, Hooper, Wilson & Rothfield, if you reading this looking for a scoop, here's one for you,
I think you are all Agenda driven A Grade germs who never let the truth get in the way of one of your articles.

I love the idea of a Fiji NSW Cup team.

Don't forget that PNG already have team in the QLD Cup.

The AFL can only dream of that.

The NRL can only dream of a national comp. I think the AFL are quite content.

I've always wondered why rugby didn't put a team up there in the super comp. Maybe a combined islands team.

Love ya thinking seems to make a lot of sense to me, if we don't do it someone else will. The amount of potential in Samoa, Fiji, Tonga is huge.

A smart club is going to do wake up to this . We really should look at or Jump on board as we look to rebuilding and growing a positive future

A lot of outside backs come from new Zealand - the warriors always have good backs. Maybe this could be a step in the right direction for us
