Why Waste money on "somthing" positions?

Director/GM of Football is the way the game is going - or more accurately, where the game has gone. Asking the head coach to manage recruitment, development pathways, sports science on top of preparing the first grade side every week is too much. Parramatta, Penrith, Canterbury, NQ and the Roosters etc all have well credentialed people in that role or similar. So do all AFL clubs.

We certainly need to do the same in the short to medium term.

not sure how good our young halves are, Penani is definitely average at best. We know what Robbo is, solid in defence solid kicking game but no flash in attack. Holdsworth isnt even worthy of reserve grade, so what are our options?
sweet !@#$ all, and we will almost certainly have to play Robson leaving us with one halves spot vacant, so who do we go after?
Robert Lui?
K.Hunt?(highly unlikely)
Rumours a little back that Kimmorely could return to the club as an assistant/halves coach, get a young bloke with a lot of potential and Noddy will show him the ropes and instill some of that pride and passion which use to be so prevalent in the team...Our attack has never been the same since he left

well solid is a bit of a stretch, but the standard of kicking in the team is so abysmal that it just seems that way at times

Yes I agree, but signing people to a wage for the **** of it because of their name is not wise at all.

Tariq Sims

Arana Returning?
One bad boy sacked for another two to return. With Blake Ferguson set to return with the Sydney Roosters either today or in 2015, another bad boy gets ready for his resurgence. Arana Taumata has
been looked at by the Cronulla Sharks as a temporary fix to a long term creativity problem. Cronulla will today discuss the future and the possible short term contract of Arana Taumata, a contract could be tabled and signed TODAY. In the long term, Sharks have already discussed the possibility of bringing Ben Hunt to the shire.

Dragons look to prop up there forwards
The St George Illawarra Dragons are looking at bringing at least one forward from Brisbane to the club for 2015. Having discussed the early release of Martin Kennedy and Ben Hannant, the Dragons now look to secure there services for 2015 and beyond, Brisbane have an array of young forwards in there ranks and have now splashed out to re-sign Josh Mcguire for 3 more years, leaving no room for at least one of the two work horses.

Sims Saga
The Tariq Sims saga appears to be nearing its end with the talented back rower almost certainly joining brother Korbin at the Newcastle Knights on a 3 year deal. This comes as he knocks back handsome approaches from the Dragons and Penrith.
