Id like to see kimmorley as interim coach, hes a good bloke and his footy knowledge seems spot on, not to mention he was a top player at some stages in his career,
cant say that about too many coaches who used to play, cant say flanno or mick potter were stars,
also id love to see reynolds here, rabbits would have rocks in their heads to let him go, id like to see him and brown in the halves
i find todd carneys attitude appalling and think his legs are stuffed too

What's being a top player got to do with being a good coach?

Wasn't Potter a Daily M player of the year? He def played for NSW and won a couple of premierships if memory serves correct. Flanaga was poo though.

Potter was a fantastic fullback from memory - this is from the google - 2 Dally M awards (first fullback to win) and 1 SOO berth. Won 2 comps and lost 3

Haha, no worries mate. You probably should do your homework though, it can be ****ing ruthless in here. I do like where your going with your assessment of Flanagan though.

Not true, in fact there are theories saying the opposite may be the case.

Bennett was a good player, not great.
Hasler, very good player, blue collar worker, not great and wasn't overly talented.
Bellamy, nothing special.
Michael Maguire, very average player.
Ivan Cleary, decent, average player.

Ricky Stuary, great player...enough said.

Great closing argument. You get 10 out of 10.

What was Gus like as a player? I can't understand how that lard ever played a professional sport.

Played everywhere from wing to prop in an era where footy was hard. Played for Newtown in 1981 when they lost to Parra in the GF.

Was a first grader not a special player but as were most in that era a hard man.

Chaps, Mick Potter was a brilliant Fullback and literally always beat the first line of defence - outstanding footballer.

Gus was a player known for his ball skills as well as his toughness. I would say in the mould of Gavin Miller but not quite as good. I remember seeing him play. Definitely wasn't rubbish.
