And you mustn't know much about fooy. Check stats.com and have a look at ennis. Along with being a grub on the field and a fake off it on fox and big sports breakfast, he doesnt do much. He cant hold a candle to C.Smith or R.Farah. So again, why sign a bloke past his best instead of targeting a gun player or an up and commer with a bright future. By the way it's only an opinion, but the "question my loyalty" bit was to show how against signing him I am. I have been a shark since I was a baby watching my uncles play for them so see ya yourself

Well, they aren't available.

And there are 13 other sides that don't have hookers as good as them, so we shouldn't feel too bad.

Cam Smith is the same age as Ennis and I would bet that no one here would turn their nose up at him being signed for a few years. We're spooners currently, and the current roster, or the roster that came 5th last season might not be available to us in 2015. In this regard we have nothing to lose. Marshall may have to use this year to find his feet but I'd be willing to think that over a preseason he would be an upgrade on Robbocop. Ennis is better than both our usual DH options. Get it done.

You are kidding Deanno. This bloke is a knob. He has been in and out of quite a few clubs now. You have to wonder why. All he is trying to do now is sort his post career media gig. People have short memories these days. Benji played like a nuff last year and Ennis ran from two fights in State of Origin. Why sign a bloke on the outer who most Sharkies players cant stand.

This is a good point, I know a couple of first graders personally and they really dislike the bloke.

Sometimes you need to take a punt on youth which I guess is what Canterbury is doing by letting Ennis go. How many guys are we going to have retiring within 2 years of each other?

Not saying you cant, but lichaa is gunna be running solo. Or with an even less experienced co-hooker.

If ennis shares shifts with brown, i think it will help brown immensely.

Cant just throw a guy in the deep end and expect him to kill it.

Cant believe people need to think about who youd rather in the team - robbo or benji.

I wouldnt even flinch at the thought of robbo doin nsw cup duties for benji.

Have you watched a Bulldogs game this year?

If you have you have realised Ennis is 10x the hooker Morris/DeGois/Robbo/Lichaa are. He would be our best hooker by a country mile.

He will play Origin this year if Farah is out. Our blokes wouldn't even have there names suggested by the most loyal of Sharks fans.

If he plays origin we lose again. I'm not saying our hookers are any good. I'm saying dont sign a bloke most people hate who is the back end of his career and who has a very limited attacking game. Sure he tackles ok and doesn't miss many but his line breaks, line break assists and try assists are pathetic.

I was just thinking that Shark 101. If brown comes out and kills it and we have signed ennis whats to stop another team comming in and signing him with an offer we cant match because we have significant money tied up in ennis.

Would be happy to sign Ennis, as I have said in previous threads he would be a great player for a young hooker to learn from. I wouldn't want a long term deal though, 3 years is ideal IMO. If it was a smaller contract I'd be happy for 4 years.

2015
9 Ennis
14 Robbo
Brown to come in for any injury/suspension/rep duties in halves (Robbo can switch or he can play halves) or hooker position.

2016
9 Ennis
14 Brown

2017
9 Brown
14 Ennis

This would be the ideal way to play the Ennis/Robbo/Brown situation IMO.

Both good ideas in theory but we all know what the Cronulla way is. If it's going to be Ennis starting and Robbo on the bench next year I'll bet you we extend Robbo for another year into 2016.

Edit: Didn't see your post shark101.

dont worry mate there are plenty of them, like deano ;)
Yeah totally dude . I'm pretty sure I was the first person to approve of Ennis when the rumours first came out.

If Brown leaves because he has to spend a year in and out of first grade when he is as young as he is then is he really the sort of player you want?

He won't get a go in first grade unless there's an injury and we'll resign Robbo for 2016....guaranteed!

That would be the stupid decision not signing Ennis. So why aren't people threatening to throw in the towel as a supporter about that?

If that happens then Brown obviously hasn't shown he is up to first grade standard, just like Lichaa/Townsend/Frizzell/Peachey and others before them.
