Agree - he will squeeze a bit over a million a year out of Parra…Moses will stay at parra i reckon.
Agreed. That backline is absolute garbage.red flag if im moses - what is left over for the backline
Way past his best.We do need a second rower. But I really think frizzell is way past his best.
I think the tigers are turning a corner. There forward pack should now be very good and if you add a player like moses to the backline they should be competitive. I think with the new cap in their current position he is worth it.red flag if im moses - what is left over for the backline
Reeks of desperation. Should be a concern to their existing squad and any potential recruitsred flag if im moses - what is left over for the backline
I don't think I'd be concerned if I was their squad and found out my team wanted to upgrade the halfback position.Reeks of desperation. Should be a concern to their existing squad and any potential recruits
hahaha that's crazy. But Brooks supposedly on 1.1million now. If he gets a ratchet 18% he's already on 1.3 million. Spending 50k less for Moses seems not that outrageous.
I don't believe it.hahaha that's crazy.
If reported numbers are correct Moses will ratshit up to 1.12 so 1.25 isn't that much of a raise to poach him.hahaha that's crazy.
Is it the 1.1 Tigers reportedly already pay Brooks the bit that you don't believe or the 1.25 they reportedly offered Moses that you shared?I don't believe it.
This is something that has bugged me for a while. People have this conceptual "dollar value" in their head for a player, but whenever the salary cap changes, it adjusts the actual value of the player in the market.I don't think I'd be concerned if I was their squad and found out my team wanted to upgrade the halfback position.
Obviously Brooks and Doueihi need to be concerned.

Potential recruits you pretty much know what you're getting yourself into.
If you're a back you are going because you think you can get a start with a good forward pack and a good 7.
If you're a half your going to partner him.
Maybe if you're a forward you think is it worth trying to crack this team that won't score **** all points, but probably not recruiting anyone significant there anymore anyway.
Its all a mystery to me.I don't believe it.
The 1.1 they're paying Brooks. A mate is a rabid Tigers' fan and tells me those in the know say it's complete bullshit, media rubbish. If reported numbers are correct Moses will ratshit up to 1.12 so 1.25 isn't that much of a raise to poach him.
But if they want to do that and sign a centre I can't see how Doueihi can also get a pay rise given other good signings already.
Is it the 1.1 Tigers reportedly already pay Brooks the bit that you don't believe or the 1.25 they reportedly offered Moses that you shared?
Obviously an overpay for Brooks in hindsight but he'd just won Dally M half of the year and 24 years old when he signed his current contract so makes sense he'd be earning well. Massive overs based on what we have seen since but I'd assume they were hoping to do a bit better.
And their back office seems to be a bit of a basket case for a while so also makes sense he could bend them over.
All reported numbers are very pinch of salt but they are the numbers that are out there so they are the numbers that get discussed - just seems odd to me you'd choose to 'believe' what tigers would offer one half but not what they supposedly pay another?
I did say if, but who knows. This is something that has bugged me for a while. People have this conceptual "dollar value" in their head for a player, but whenever the salary cap changes, it adjusts the actual value of the player in the market.
The salary cap has more than doubled since 2017. A player who has played across this time and is providing identical on-field value as he was then should be getting paid double.
Luke Brooks is actually a really good example, because he signed a contract ending the 2018 season and that 5-year contract straddled the next cap-rise. Given his contract was signed in 2018, it's not guaranteed that he has the ratchet clause (though it is possible).
Do those in the know offer another number or do they just say 'please don't believe the bad thing' and refuse to discuss it further? The 1.1 they're paying Brooks. A mate is a rabid Tigers' fan and tells me those in the know say it's complete bullshit, media rubbish.
Yeah - that would be cool to see.I did say if, but who knows.
And it is reportedly a standard 18% now but maybe back then it was a standard 10% or 15%, or everyone negotiated and some players got 20-25%. If and 18% seemed easier for the comment haha
Do those in the know offer another number or do they just say 'please don't believe the bad thing' and refuse to discuss it further?
The Fox Sports media team would have a lot of those is knows between them too and come out with these numbers.
TBH if they aren't overspending on Brooks (vs what he has delivered during that contract) then that's arguably worse.
What have they been spending on!?
My personal expectation is a lot of the numbers we see are probably put out by player managers looking to inflate certain values.
As an example (all numbers made up by me just to create an example) Brooks maybe has a max earning capacity of 1.035 but gets rounded up to 1.1 by manager/press and realistic earning capacity is maybe more like 850k in typical season. Knowing this those in the know say he isn't paid 1.1 and that it's a media beat up.
But I assume that whatever this inflation is it's probably somewhat consistent over most contracts in same price bracket. So Moses' reported 950k maybe he did hit last year with GF but perhaps would more commonly be 800k? Maybe the new 1.25 is more likely to actually see 1mil come to him as he won't make finals anymore.
I'd be interested to see some NRL contracts, even without names, to have a better idea about how prevalent match payments and performance goals etc are.
Will never get a premiership there, might as well get paid megabucks for never winning a premiership somewhere else...Moses will stay at parra i reckon.
It's not the money. Moses had already declined to join them by the sounds of it. Now the Tigers are bumping the offer in a desperate attempt to convince him otherwise. It's not something I'm a fan of clubs doing... it's not a good look and not a great story even if he does take the cash grab.I don't think I'd be concerned if I was their squad and found out my team wanted to upgrade the halfback position.
