Didnt the Broncos pay a lot of that?

Regardless, I still don’t think people with cash should be able to buy their way out of trouble like that, been happening for a thousand years I know. He should of still did time. Thats just me and my silly opinion though. I’m glad the victims got paid regardless.
Bennett/Brisbane & Greenberg facilitated it all I think so **** knows.

I wouldn't mind them working in my interests if I was a player.

Sorry but I would rather short term losses then throw away our club morales.

Target up and comers or older heads that have good proven values

Dynasties aren't built in a year or two (which I feel our club have a potential to build). Need to have focus on big picture

Jarrod Wallace would be a good target in my opinion, surely he'd like at a chance a premiership.

I don’t think they paid any that wasn’t out of his pay cheque
Think NRL wouldn’t register his contract until broncos put in place a repayment plan from his wage to ensure it was paid.

I think they garnished his wages.
Like they do for child support.

So it was all of Lodges money but paid directly from the broncos or NRL to the family and he received just enough to live on

he is about to sign for wigan for 100k bruh
I'd argue that suggests Webster is onto something about the guy and the clubs know it. Guys with his talent don't go cheap to super league with no local bidders unless there's something else going on. And yeah everyone here thinks all journo's are scum but thats frankly BS. It's about as informed as using terms like "mainstream media" to decry the whole fourth estate. There are plenty of respected sports journalists in this country, I'd argue Webster is one of them.

I understand what you’re saying but I don’t recall a frenzy of bad press when Bulldogs signed him, there was the odd article but not mass hysteria or anything.
Up to Fitz & Mooney if they think him, as a bloke along with his stats can offer us anything which justifies said salary.
That's because it's not about the bad press. Clubs don't want Vaughn because he creates bad club culture. Has any club succeeded while he has played there?

Latrell and JAC have been smart enough to keep their heads down. Though I don't really need either in our team.
You just can't compare a remote camping trip to a 13 player spreader event... that everyone lied about and tried to cover up. That Vaughan organised.
And even if it's a media beat up (which it always is to some degree), it wouldn't take much for Vaughan to draw a lot more of the wrong kind of attention, and he's shown he's not smart enough to avoid it. As a club I'm not putting myself in that firing line
Agree with all of that. Any extra metres we have with Vaughn in the side will be diminished by the poison he has a habit of spreading around.

I’d also wouldn’t mind Taylan May, who’s off contract, I’d prefer him to Katoa
