Has anyone done a review of halves available for 2023 (where we can 'officially' negotiate from 1 Nov this year)?

I'm sure the club / Fitz would be reviewing.

This was never about short term success but building a strong top 4 consistent culture.

If we would have over stretched to get AR for 3 or more years it may have put us in the situation we are in now with a few of our players.

Time will tell with how he goes at Brisbane in the next few years I guess. Though knowing our luck he would have been more injury prone with us.

Brent Read reporting that Sharks insist our offer was less than Broncos:-

"Hearing Broncos announcement on Reynolds likely to be tomorrow. Ultimately wanted a change of scene and Brisbane provided it. Also, Sharks insist their offer was less than Broncos. Next move for Cronulla - re-sign Shaun Johnson or look at the likes of Anthony Milford? Or both?'

In your head, rent free
we aren't talking to mbye, he is on the dogs radar to play 9

ash taylor and milford would be a decent halves pairing providing we sign an absolute monster forward pack

I think Reynolds is good for a win now team. We're not a win now team. Our pack needs an overhaul and we're short a centre (or two) and our spine is not elite in any position.

Reynolds would have been good but we're looking at building that consistent top 4 culture, not just having a crack at it next year or the following. I think some patience might be needed in expectations.

In saying that, I think the fans need win. Either a re-signing of a new pick up to keep the mob at bay.

Agree with this, there is no quick fix now.

We desperately need some leadership as well. McInnes is a good start but he's not enough. Need another two at least.

Unless Wade improves soon he can go to France, he's proving he's not a leader anyway.

I'd rather play the long game rather than try for quick fixes.

Jeeze , talk about the Sharks setting the bar low.
Even with a monster pack ( Titans/Broncos packs aren't that shabby as it is ) they could struggle
Move over Chad Townsend there could be two new whipping boys in town

Re Reynolds to Broncos deal.

“I think it’s important to know that he’s actually taking less than what the Cronulla offer is, which is very interesting,” Kent told NRL 360.

How does he know? These guys like to run their own agenda.

It doesn’t even seem to have occurred to him that Reynolds (more likely than not) be getting some sort of “sweeteners” in 3rd party agreements (maybe somewhere nice to live) and the “package” may have blown us out of the water.

Common sense would suggest that there is more to his deal than just the “NRL contracted figure”, especially with a club like Brisbane who are historically renowned to be one of if not the highest in 3rd party payment deals.
So why wouldn’t there be a deal here for Reynolds?
Lazy journalism.

And BTW Buzz, phuck off and support a different club.
Maybe you can go white ant the Broncos as their no.1 ticket holder.
