You can see why they desperately want Arrow for this year. Liam Knight as a starter? Yeah nah.

Do we think Cook can perform with this huge handbrake on?

Cooks best work comes from fast PTB and Murray is one of the best in the business.

I think the Rabbits are low floor high ceiling.

Latrell struggles at fullback, Gagai does nothing, Roberts suspended and sacked, small/mobile pack gets bullied with Burgess getting steamrolled like his brother, and Walker loses a touch of speed and has a little more attention paid to him - a no finals flop is entirely possible.

But conversely
Latrell has the potential to bust open any game from fullback, their 9 and 7 are amongst the best in the game when they are firing and their dynamic mobile forward pack, if fit enough and good enough, could be a point of difference other teams struggle to contain.

Personally I think the better Latrell goes the better the team goes. If he (and the wingers will be needed for this also to a degree) gets their sets off to a good start then that helps the forwards and Cook immensely, and if Latrell is backing up a lot of their plays (and playing well) that is a very serious threat.

i doubt it

the tops 4 this year have all gone backwards

roosters - lost their best strike weapon and their best player. their strike weapons replacement just blew his knee out whilst cronks replacement is a prick

canberra - got rid og their 2 best backs and replaced them with a cop basher and a reserve grader, got rid of sezer for the british jeff robson

souths - lost burgess and didnt get the forwards in for this year, pack is skinnier than an ethiopian marathon, backline is ok with latrell in it

storm - losing everyone. will regress this year

this will be a very even comp, one good run can set you up for home ground advantage in the finals

Well said.

Im excited

Knight finished the year real well. I rate him as a starter in most packs.

On the bunnies, Reynolds had a relatively uninterupted year, so is due an injury. Bloke is made of glass. If he stays fit they will be top 4 easily, if he goes down they could miss the 8. The likes of Walker, Mitchell and Roberts need a leader/direction desperately.

I was gunna say something like that too but I had a look and he’s on 3 years straight of 21+ games, so reasonably reliable

Ahh way more than expected. He's still the key to that side though.

These are all interesting comments for the year ahead , how does everyone see the Kogarah effect influencing our season ?
Will not having Shark Park be a massive negative , or no big deal ?

Kyle Turner announced his retirement
No club wanted him.
Thought maybe the titans or warriors would of been interested but obviously not.

From Weidler

[h=3]Shire straits[/h]Despite assurances no Sydney club would be relocated, the NRL is keeping a keen eye on the Sharks as they stumble towards a new season with no chief executive, no licensed club, a borrowed home ground and problems in the playing ranks.
Unfortunately for Cronulla, senior figures at Rugby League Central have long believed the Sharks are more at risk of folding than any other club. It would be a godsend for the NRL as it could replace the Shire club with a second Brisbane team, which would substantially boost the value of the game’s broadcast rights. It could also stage a game at Suncorp Stadium every weekend, leading to a significant increase in attendances and television ratings.

On January 7, Richard Munro became the fifth CEO to depart the Sharks in seven years. He followed Bruno Cullen, Steve Noyce, Lyall Gorman and Barry Russell, who have all come and gone since 2013.

Cronulla fans made it clear on social media they believe the problem lies with the board. There is talk of a clean-out at the upcoming elections.
The problem for the Sharks is they are running out of time. They have closed their licensed club for 18 months while they redevelop the leagues club and have taken the unusual and expensive step of spending millions buying a golf club, which still isn’t open to fans.
The Sharks have opted to play the next two seasons at Kogarah while the renovations are completed, which will undoubtedly lead to lower attendances and revenue. On the field, the Sharks are facing an uphill battle this year after losing a host of talent and experience, including Paul Gallen, Matt Prior, Jayden Brailey and Kyle Flanagan, among others. They are struggling with their salary cap to the point where there has been talk of offloading leading players.

It all shapes as a perfect storm for a club that has traditionally struggled. The difference this time is the NRL, despite its denials, will grasp any opportunity to take the franchise north.

“Sigh.” Here we go again with this bull****.

If the NRL want to relocate us then why the hell don’t they go ahead and do it.

It’s just another muckraking piece to create drama and keep these parasites in a job.

Mate we'll do the NRL's work for them. I'd be amazed if our club is around in 20 years.

I wouldn’t worry about that muck raking article by Weedler. He should be driving an ice cream truck like Josh Masood. He failed to point out the millions the Club got paid out by developers or that the Golf Club brings in profit of $1million per year. We are salary cap compliant but have been looking to off load expensive non performing players. Plenty of Clubs have done that. There’s not much NRL news around so Weeds like Weidler look for shyte to write. A totally biased article with no balance to the many positive things happening with the Club. His article is something an opposition fan would write on a forum how it gets published in a Newspaper shows why so many people don’t buy newspapers anymore. Journalism isn’t what it used to be.
