Do you reckon this really factors into it? I'm sort of the same mind, but from a front office perspective you'd have to say that the practicality of getting things under control across the cap and players in the right positions would make where a player goes that you need to move on a distant priority?

Storm don't need Doueihi like Tigers do. He's a backup fullback/half to them. If I am Storm I would rather drop Addo-Carr to reserve grade (if he refused to play or played like ****) than send him to that Rabbitohs team or Roosters for someone who won't even start for you.

If I am Storm I am also not releasing my bench forward to Titans to allow Rabbitohs to get Arrow and I'm definitely not sending away my international winger and bench forward for a decent winger and backup half and destroying my chances of winning the premiership by creating a super power.

Tell Titans they can have Tino if Arrow wants to come and play a season with Cameron Smith before he goes to Rabbitohs otherwise they are **** out of luck.

JAC can go to Tigers/Dragons/Bulldogs if he wants.

He wants to leave Melbourne and Souths want to ditch Doueihi so even if they aren't chasing it I'm sure they'd happily let it happen.

Storm would be mad to do it though. If they were to let JAC go early it'd have to be for a player they want AND to a club that isn't a top contender.

Souths are happy to let Douehi go to further his career. They now have a big surplus of quality backs. They are not currently interested in Ado Carr. He has offers from other clubs.
The whole Doueihi to Storm talk is actually more about Souths trying to get Arrow for this year. As Titans have signed a young Storm forward for 2021.

Or because they know they have locked him out of his two preferred positions and have no need for him, especially given what they are paying him. Like Johnston and Gagai he is considered expendable if it nets them someone like Arrow. And as I said even if they aren't chasing JAC I have no doubt they'd jump on a JAC for Douehi swap in a heartbeat if it was a possibility.

Would Souths have cap space left to upgrade a player? It's getting a little 'rings for WAG's' over there atm, surely.

Souths priority is to get Arrow here this year. They are working overtime but Titans playing hard ball; as they should.

I wouldn't think so. But Douehi, Johnston and Gagai all on decent coin so if one of them left at full freight they've got decent money.

If JAC just wants into a NSW team he should be happy with a deal a bit backended, so they should be able to sort him out if any of the three I mentioned left.
If they could shake off all three (Douehi to Tigers and one each of Johnston and Gagai to Storm/Titans) then they'd presumably would easily have money to take in JAC and Arrow.

As it is they may need to shake off two of these guys to get Arrow early, which is still very possible with teams like Tigers and Storm (especially if they lose JAC somewhere) needing backs.

Agree Arrow is their priority, just talking about how they could make JAC work. Although I stand by that if I'm Melbourne I would want pretty good value in return to let JAC go to another team that is already one of my biggest hurdles for the premiership.

Feel like Arrow would be on more than Surgess was, so moving another largish chunk of payroll on would be needed for the longer term you would think.

Absolutely. They should be bending over Uncle Wayne hard. Very hard.

Very little chance any of those guys get full freight. Not even the Gold Coast could be that dumb.

Arrow is moving into big money territory, big part of reason he is leaving Titans was he wanted to see what he was worth given he felt he was far out playing his current contract with them.

Long term to fit Latrell and pay Arrow they definitely need to shake a few people off, especially the three backs that have already been mentioned a few times.
They also need to negotiate with Reynolds & Cam Murray this year, Walker (or replacement) next year and Cook the year after, but at least those are nicely staggered.

Tigers could pay full for Doueihi, Storm could pay full for a Johnstone or Gagai IF they couldn't retain JAC. I agree I don't think Titans would, especially not as part of the deal to lose Arrow.

Doubt that mate

You're right, with Surgess bumped Arrow (if SMH is to be believed) by $200k a season.
"Burgess was on a four-year, $4 million deal.."

Arrow has a four-year, $3.2 million deal.

It only gets better and better for Souths... unbelievable.

Millhouse is definitely a Souths' supporter.

I assume because one player is still trying to establish himself as a 1-13 regular starter in the NRL & still yet to play a full season in FG & the player they supposedly want is the current Australian winger.

Well that’s pretty obvious but with trades it can include additional players or cash.
Anyway doueihi is a super talent and it won’t be long before he is a regular first grader. If I was Melbourne and Addo-Carr is leaving then I’d making a play for doueihi. Plays several backline positions

We should be trying to swap Dugan/Moylan for JAC..

I think JAC not being happy on $550k rules him out for us above anything. I think that's very fair money for a finishing winger, even a little overs. If you put him in space he probably scores but for anything above what he's on I want someone who can create a bit for themselves.

When you add $90k a year for Origin and $50k for Roos he's on a ****en good wicket for a small quick bloke.

Remember how good guys like Steve Turner looked on the wing for Melbourne.

The Melbourne doc should wait until the contract is signed and then give JAC an extra hard tap with the reflex mallet
