Given our reduced cap... I don’t think Welch is that much better than Jack is now to be a priority signing. Jack could come in and do the job, I have no doubt. We would be better off looking to strengthen the wing, which is clearly our glaring weakness.

Think the timing is no good for Welch and us.
He would be a great Prior replacement if Prior's contract expired this year, but he's with us next year too.
Prior is 31 190cm 106kg
Welch is 24 195cm 110kg

Welch to play ahead of a Williams for a year then replace Prior sounds nice but I think Williams is good enough to start next year and we have other more immediate roster concerns (ie we don't have much strength on the wings...)

When Prior leaves we have Woods (28) and BHU (24) who can step up. Woods is here until 2021 and Uele is up for a contract this year I think but is probably worthy of one

I can understand why we'd want Welch. We one big forward injury at from literally being our of our depth in the forwards. Plenty of potential and raw talent, but you can't relieve experience with anything but experience of you want a GF win.

That's because Woods is injured though. You can only afford to have so much cover.

And I'd say if we had another injury at prop you just shift Gallen there and start Williams with Boogs on the bench.
It still wouldn't be our biggest problem.

Hahaha. Rather back our own guys than take any of their scum

I tend to agree. I mean, nothing against the guy, but I’d rather back Williams and Bukuya to cover the lock position next year, which also means we’ll have room to have both Uele and Woods on the bench.

Williams is an absolute gun. Shows lots of heart but the thing that impresses me the most is his silky passes right to left. He has he ability to run hard and turn and pass softy, which is so hard to do for a big guy. He did it against the cowboys that led to a raid down the left... and again last night

And to add to your comments,
I think he is being smart bring the ball back in our half.

Bit of a fun question:

What would you pay for Latrell Mitchell?

If he’s not right now, he will be at least a million dollar player, perhaps a bit more.

He was in everything last night scored three tries and kicked 7 goals.

26 points. Amazing effort.

What would you pay for an in his prime Inglis who also kicks goals? He'll need $1m, and I assume whoever pays it will want him to play fullback. Roosters know this, hence the rumours about him playing 5/8 next year, but they've also said Cronk can play on if he wants, and Latrell is better suited to fullback anyway.

Playing for the Roosters is almost a guarantee that you'll play well, play finals and earn good coin, but they're not going to move Tedesco. I really think Latrell's best option is Souths.
