Is Nofa still off contract? Can't leave him out of the picture, genuine try scorer and playing like a warrior (not the NZ type lol) in a rubbish team

SKD would be worth rolling the dice on if we don't secure some of those other names and hope the coaching staff can improve his decision making and errors in a Sharks system. You can't coach someone to be a big strong lanky **** ha ha and there's upside to him for sure

The fans have been begging for a new and improved Pomeroy MKII and I'm sure Flanno has a can of orange spray paint in the back shed
Not this fan ;)

David Nofoaluma is off contract. He's been pretty ordinary this season defensively, but his centres haven't helped him at all. I think he could get it together with a consistent and competent centre partner.

Id be stoked if we got one established player like gagai/kahu/fergo and one young top prospect like milne to fight beale for the last spot.

We can reveal Cronulla have joined Newcastle and Wests Tigers in the hunt for Warriors prop Ben Matulino.

With his partner on the Northern Beaches, Newcastle is an option as Foran would be willing commute from the Central Coast, where his mother resides.

The Sydney clubs with a realistic chance include Canterbury, Cronulla, and Wests Tigers.

gagai will cost A LOT of money

Agreed, esspecially on his recent form. I do however think he's worth the money we threw at bird and then some probably as he is a far better ouside back.

Thank Christ you didn't mention SKD as well.

I don't see the value in going for those middle of the road players in the outside backs. For similar or less money we can work to find the next holmes or bird coming through. The fact those guys and others were playing well above their value was a big reason for our success.

Agree. I wouldn't even call him middle of the road based on his form over the past 1-2 years.

beale is off contract this year isn't he?

Yeah im pretty sure, I don't mind the thought of retaining him though as he wont cost much. Its all guess work with the figures but I dont think you'd get a much better utility in the backs for the same amount.

The team will have an idea of how much they want to spend on those two outside back positions. The reason they threw so much at Bird was because he was slated to move in to a key position rather than offering up that money for a centre. Now - let's say the Sharks' offer for him was in the ballpark of $850k. If we could sign Gagai and re-sign Beale for somewhere close to that I think it would be considered a win. I think that might be tight, but not impossible. Gagai is a gun centre, but doesn't want to play fullback and shouldn't demand fullback money. If it's $500k + $350k I think that is reasonable.

Can anyone help me understand where we are at in regards to the thinking process of going after foran/Josh Reynolds?

Especially with talk that chad is close to signing on?

I honestly reckon its just media leaks to play games, both from flanno to pressure chad and from jeynolds manager to bump his price/pressure the dogs.

Forans a new one and is probably more a case of the media throwing out a bunch of clubs so they can say we told you so when something happens.
