That Darren Lockyer "5/8 experiment" is another good example. Shoulda just gone straight to the second row

It's fine to experiment but you have to be prepared to pull the pin when the experiment isn't working. Obviously it worked with Lockyer.

No, imo, could he fill in there during a game if injury occurred, yes, but over the season he would be caught out & targeted, cant see him at Sharks anyway, lots of games being played out in the media, players, player managers & clubs atm.

Definitely. He will end up staying at Canterbury anyway. The game last night just highlighted than Mbye is the problem, not Reynolds.

Bird is crazy to take the dough and leave, unless his medical condition is going to shorten his career, which I haven't heard.
He should take the upgrade for 2 years, develop his game, play origin if picked, then in 2 years when he'll only be 23 or something, he can re assess. Maybe by then he'll be one of the games best centres and realise 700k to play centre is pretty good. Not to mention all the coin for playing rep. And when Lewis leaves he could turn into the right edge Wade Graham for us. Running, ball playing, some kicking. It's a lot more involved than centre, but with much less pressure.

I have a feeling he'll stay anyway.

Much less pressure than playing 1,6 or 7 I meant. Centre has no pressure. Jennings is proof of that.

What are you talking about, Sharks fans have been pinning losses on our centres for best part of the last decade :p

Poms, Beale, Poly ET, Collis, Ayshford - so many quality scapegoats for an entire teams performance

If we did sign reynolds do you think we could play him as a center if we lost jack bird. would make for some exciting attack. Not sure how his defense would be like in that position. Just a thought.

farout man, he would be hard to watch playing for the sharks i hate watching him carry on like a goose the way he does.

I can't stand the bloke. Flanno is the one who knows his family. I was trying to think about what we might do with him if we did sign him.

bird being off contract and leaving, we should throw money at either whare or chambers

chambers won us a grand final, deserves our respek

fergo, aaron gray a few others are available
Dean Whare would be a great pickup , you can see the impact he has in that Penrith backline , add to him Tyrone Peachey and Jack Bird can go where he likes.

Jesus you're totally right! Yeah we're mad for it. That said our halves have certainly copped it too. Come to think of it, was anyone safe in 2011?

Oh **** me, Collis. I was actually really excited when we signed him lol.
Same here! I thought it was very astute. He would regain his good form at the Sharks I thought. How deeply flawed those thoughts were.

Pom and Ayshford actually did cost us games with awful defense. So did Prior until he moved to prop. Collis and Vagana were adequate players who were just victims of very high expectations as per your comments.

Even the most knowledgeable of posters get the odd thing wrong. Then you get posters like us who get plenty wrong. :)
