Isn't GI on some sort of allowances for promotion of the game? Kicked in by the NRL?

Wouldn't surprise me what the NRL are capable of, within their own 'ruleset'
nope that is why he is whinging about going to union cause the NRL don't pay for their time to promote the game.

The same Nrl that lets robert lui play each week? The same nrl that let the roosters sign sbw, jenko, and Maloney while paying tupou under 100k?

The same nrl thats been helping the stains with their rent?

The same Nrl that's been nursing carpet burns on its knees between the thighs of souffs the last year?

Its a joke. We will never be treated fairly like the ivy league clubs.

As long as our offer is financially competitive then we are still every chance with regards DCE until he signs on the dotted line. If I was in his shoes I'd be either moving here or staying at Manly from a footballing point of view. If we are matching the 3.5mill offered by the tits then I don't see the problem.

I think we can assume that we all have matching monetary bids and it is going to come done to life style choices, where he thinks he is likely to play in a winning team, and what his wife tells him to do.

The same NRL that although the media and a number of fans were howling for us to be relocated or disbanded consistently said we were going nowhere.

I get the fear that we may not be a premiership force without DCE but without more to go on I reckon there is a lot of jumping at shadows.

Ive said it every year for the past 3 or 4 but im well and truly losing interest in the game. The corruption and manipulation of the rules to give unfair advantages to any team the NRL decides to back at the time is getting way out of hand. If DCE does go to the GC after all this, only because the NRL stepped in and babied that basketcase of a franchise to land the hottest prospect in the game, its just one more nail in the coffin for me.

They can claim its for the good of the game, but realistically they're setting a very murky precedent that will be open to exploit to the already favoured clubs in the future. Seriously DCE coming to the sharks now, after all our ASADA dramas would also be a massive feel good story for the NRL and show that even a club coming out of its darkest hour has the ability to attract the #1 player on the market. But nope, they sure as hell dont view it that way.

I've said for the past week I could handle if dce stayed at manly, but if he went to the Gold Coast I'd be pissed off, and this is why, the nrl are a joke and most likely cost us the chance to sign the best half back on the open market, I feel sorry for the club, they put so much effort into getting trying to get him here, unbelievable effort and most likely just to be screwed by the nrl

I have had thoughts of phoning Talkin Sport this afternoon to vent our frustration but I'm not sure it's going to get us anywhere. I don't have any proof that the NRL have duped us and I know from other callers who've tried to get on there and give their knowledge of the cocaine scandal, Hughesy and co won't enter into any speculation. They don't want anyone making wild accusations on air without proof. So I won't stick my neck out.

But I sure as hell would love to.

Reminds me of when News Ltd owned the Storm and half of the NRL.

This is how these things work.

It would be great to see a whistleblower again.

Considering he hasn't signed with anyone... might be pretty stupid.

Dont ring Talkin sport they are a pack of idiots and wont care what you say. Leave it.
Correct. Most afternoons I try and listen to it but end up swearing at the radio and turning it off. Biased and usually ill informed tripe!

I cant stand it... Graham doesnt give a ****, tunks tries to make a joke out of every sentence (listen to him im serious) Gav is busy trying to sound smart and sucking up to Graham and then the other knob doesnt know anything about anything other than rugby and no one cares.

I wouldn't say it's that bad... Graham will always sit on the fence and never discuss allegations or rumours, which is fine, they can't exactly validate someones source or give credence to it, after all its some nuftie ringing up as far as they are concerned.

I get annoyed when they let imbeciles go on and on and on.

Or any time Sue rings up.

Mate, you're right. But it's the only sports show on in the afternoon while I'm driving home. I've been trying for months to win the golf prize at Twin Creeks but can never get through.
Yeah probably Tunksy annoys me the most with trying to be funny all the time, Gav I don't mind as he's a West Brom fan and Pappy, well I think Pappy actually talks more League than Rugby.

haha Sue isn't too bad for a Dragons supporter.

As for the panel, I don't mind them. I didn't like Hughes when I first started listening to it a couple of years ago, but I've since come around. I don't agree with everything they say, but that's what happens when you listen to someone else's opinion. I like that they don't just dish out the same tabloid sensationalism that everyone else does. I also like that they engage with callers and speak to them for a while. I hate the talkback format where caller discussion only goes for about 15 seconds. It's so pointless when dealing with complex issues.

Gav is a bit **** though. Rambles on about nothing a bit.

Mate, I totally agree there. The caller comes on, says his bit and then he's cut off without being able to sign off, just disappears into space. Very rude way of dispatching the call. At least with Talkin Sport they do let you have your say without cutting you off - unless you've made a complete goose of yourself like Adrian.

Also you can ring up without telling them what you want to say - the other stations need you to tell them what you want to talk about - no pre-screening on Talkin Sport.
