Haha must admit that last sentence made my chuckle mate but I saw plenty of Fifita last year and he was immense. Not saying Fifita is one of those honest toilers, my post said he offers more than most props, the guy's a bit of a freak and would hate to lose him. Was more about the overall state of this team relying on a prop to get us try's ect. He was our leading try scorer last year, our attitude shouldn't be damn we need to pay him whatever because we need that again from him, it should be wtf our leading try scorer was a prop, what the **** are the rest of these ****s doing on the field?

We need to fix hooker, halfback our backs ect and we won't be able to if we pay overs for fifita and/or keep investing in marque back rowers ect.

We constantly rely on blokes like Lewis, Gallen, Fifita, Graham to get us wins. And while blokes like that play an important role for us on the field we need to get to a place where by we are relying on our halves, hooker, centres to deliver the goods. At the moment it still looks like a disjointed effort between what the forwards are trying to deliver and that of the backs. They don't look in alignment and poor Carney is somewhere in the middle of all that with a massive weight on his shoulders to bring it all together.

This. The fact that Chad Townsend is now carving it up for the warriors in their trial against Brisbane yesterday after being continually being denied a fair go (From memory I don't think he ever got a game teaming up with Carney) speaks volumes about our team selection. Losing Peachey and rumours of Lichaa linking up with the Bulldogs has left me fuming about the way we look after our juniors. Amateurs.

Honest toilers up front and a mix of gun backs and some cheap up and comers over paying blokes more than 500k to run forward and get tackled, yet alone over 700k!!

I know Fifita is an incredible talent that offers more than most props, we love the big guy and don't want to see him go by any means but for me personally it's just highlighted the place we as a team, club and fans have been in and only slowly showing signs of hopefully moving away from.

Paying "Market Value" in this case 700k+ because of some ludicrous abnormal fluctuation due to overzealous rival clubs will hurt our cap space, limiting negotiation room for players in more key positions and see us make mistakes we should have learned from. My heart would hurt deeply for him to be snatched up by a superior financial offer but my head would be thinking the club made the right strategic decision provided they did not match it.

The club can't stop rival clubs making big offers
The club can't stop a player being interested in more money
The club CAN try and make the best decisions with what is within their control

Stop stressing about something that has risen from other clubs desperation of which the outcome is yet to be determined. This his Adam Blair Tigers move written all over it

Mbye is a half, is he not? I'm sure the dogs would love an up and coming hooker to go along with their up and coming half.

Rumour has it (at least according to the papers) that A.Reynolds could be on the outer at Souths - something to do with the fact that he has failed to step up in the finals. I call BS, but maybe it'd be worth making an inquiry or two? A Reynolds/Carney combo would be lethal.

I call BS on that rumor he is a young half and will only get better.

Mybe played hooker on the weekend but he can play half. J Renyolds can also play hooker and would be a really good hooker and is only 24-25.

Yep I'd say that's bs regarding Reynolds. He's still young, only been in first grade for a couple of years. I think people make the mistake of thinking all young halfbacks will dominate from the get go because of DCE. He is the excpetion to the rule rather than the norm. Need patience with young halfbacks, tough position.

If it is an 8 week thing I think they'll look to a young guy rather than play Morris at half for 8 weeks which then affects the 9 for 8 weeks too. The longer it is my feeling is the more likely we'll get a solution that leaves the rest of the team unchanged, that is, no graham or Morris at 7 or 6.
