Looks like it might be too hard to try to pry Reynolds over to us.

Two months ago, it was feared Adam Reynolds was on the outer at South Sydney after he was benched, but now the club is making plans to extend his contract.

South Sydney and Reynolds' management have both indicated a desire to keep him at the club beyond the end of his 2015 contract. Both parties have agreed to put negotiations on hold until after the season, which could see Reynolds' value skyrocket if he can help lead the Rabbitohs to a long-awaited premiership.

After Reynolds orchestrated a thumping victory over Manly in week one of the finals, South Sydney coach Michael Maguire spoke about how he had transformed his game over the past six weeks. Those six weeks coincide with the night he was pulled from Pirtek Stadium when the game was on the line against Parramatta in July.

It was believed Reynolds would again make way for Luke Keary in the following week's game against Canberra, but an injury to five-eighth John Sutton in the ninth minute may have saved his season.

We'll never know what Maguire had planned for Reynolds had Sutton not gone down with injury, but he admits the humiliation of being benched has helped him produce arguably the best football of his career.

Well tonights performance will really determine his future IMO.

If he has a barry and the Souths get beaten, i think his value to the club will drop significantly. 3 years in a row missing out in the last round of the semis isnt going to be good on his re-sign resume. However if they win and make the gf (or god forbid win the whole thing) theyll sign him for massive money

Hopefully he kicks the ball out on the full 5 or 6 times, misses 15 tackles and abuses a fan.

then we might get him.

Actually, I don't think tonight will matter anyway.

i just think if Souths choke out again, as they have done 2 years running, questions will be asked if he is the best option for the future (which i think is understandable)

Calling it now, Flanno comes back, no marquee halves break their contract and round one next year sees either holdsworth or Keating paired with Robson while Nu and Holmes go back to waiting in their respective cups because incumbency and experience > talent

Flanno has always wanted a key creative player in the team surrounded by consistent guys that "do thier job". He'll be looking out for a new one now carney has gone. I reckon he'll persist with brown at 6. But yeah Robbo will def be the 7.

Not 100% accurate SOURCE Fox sports

SHARKS:

Veteran hooker Michael Ennis (Bulldogs) is the key recruit following the losses of Isaac De Gois (mid-season - Eels), Michael Lichaa (Bulldogs) and John Morris (retired). The loss of Beau Ryan (retired) is offset by the recruitment of outside backs Mitch Brown (Bulldogs), Sami Sauiluma (Raiders) and Jack Bird (Dragons).

Ins: Michael Ennis (Bulldogs), Mitch Brown (Bulldogs), Sami Sauiluma (Raiders), Jack Bird (Dragons)

Outs: Todd Carney (Catalans), Isaac De Gois (mid-season - Eels), Michael Lichaa (Bulldogs), John Morris (retired), Beau Ryan (retired), Nathan Stapleton (mid-season - Roosters)

New contracts: Andrew Fifita (2018), Wade Graham (2017), Jacob Gagan (2016), Valentine Holmes (2017), Sosaia Feki (2017), Fa’amanu Brown (2017), David Fifita (2016)

Out of all our players off contract I'd keep everyone except for Gibbs, Gardner, Grothe, Holdsworth and Mexico.

I'd only offer Jono Wright, Penani Manumalealli and Tim Robinson bare minimum contact extensions for one year and use them only as depth.

Gards has been re-signed for 1 year - 9's specialist :)
