Austin would be a good signing for a few reasons. He wants a starting spot, which he can easily have, but his utility value is immeasurable.

Smashed us from fullback last night, has carved up in the halves, at hooker, off the bench and held on at centre as well. Find me a more versatile player.

I'm pretty sure this guy has been given permission to look elsewhere. This is one player we should be chasing although from what I've read Canberra have the inside running on the guy.

I doubt he would be on more than two hundred k at the moment. His worth now would be very interesting and presumably half the money or less than what Todd was on.

I dont think hes been given permission, or at least the tigers havent just offered him a trouble free release. Tigers will ask for money.

We have as much chance as canberra and as far as ive read we too have put interest out there. He can remain in sydney with us, and other than rickys ability to pay too much, we have $ to spend

Because he is ****, why seek out such a player!? He would be of little improvement to robson and probably wont get a gig in first anyway.

You say that with such certainty. Its unconfirmed, especially if they want Austin. If they signed both they would have five NRL halves on the books.

Agree re wanting an actual hlafback. From what I've seen Austin is a ballrunner with an average kicking and passing game. I have no doubt he'll become the new whipping boy if he comes here. He is a utility player but he obviously wants to leave Wests to secure a starting spot.
