It appears Daley isn't interested.

The more games we go without an interim the less and less attractive it will be for ANYONE.
I say get BK this week or don't bother at all and wait until Flanno gets back so he can find an assistant he can work with.

Laurie Daley not interested in coaching Cronulla Sharks, says manager

A short-term gig as Cronulla's NRL coach doesn't appeal to NSW Blues mentor Laurie Daley, according to his manager.
James Shepherd has acted as caretaker coach of the Sharks for their past two games following Peter Sharp's decision to quit.
Sharp was appointed coach for this season while Shane Flanagan served a suspension.
Cronulla chairman Damian Keogh said on Sunday the Sharks would not mind having a chat to Daley about doing the job for the rest of 2014.
Keogh acknowledged the names of former St George Illawarra head coach Steve Price and current Canberra assistant Brett Kimmorley had been mentioned as possibilities to fill the post.
The Sharks, who are bottom of the ladder with four wins from 16 games, could decide to stick with Shepherd.
Cronulla have gone 1-1 under his stewardship and Shepherd said he would be happy to continue doing the job.
Daley enhanced his coaching credentials by leading the Blues to a drought-breaking 2-1 State of Origin series win over Queensland.
His manager Steve Gillis said on Monday he had not had direct discussions with Cronulla.
"If they are keen, I don't know anything about it. Neither does Laurie," Gillis said.
Gillis stressed Daley still had commitments to the NSWRL following the Origin series and was then probably more inclined to take some time off in the coming weeks.
"Whilst it would quiten a little bit, he's still got plenty on his plate and plenty to do," Gillis said.
"Laurie is probably going to wind down a bit in the next couple of months.
"He's due some time off, he's been flat out and it's very draining the Origin.
"He's got some work there next week he's got to get into, but it (the Cronulla post) is not something that appeals to him at this stage."
Gillis pointed out there was no guarantee the NSWRL would release Daley even if he showed interest in the Sharks job.
"If he did want to explore it, he'd certainly need clearance from them," Gillis said.
"I'm not even sure if he wanted to do it, he'd be allowed to."
The NSWRL have shown in the past they would not stand in someone's way if a club post came up.
Daley's predecessor at the Blues, Ricky Stuart, was released from the final year of his contract to take the Parramatta position.
Cronulla chief executive officer Steve Noyce stressed the club wasn't rushing to make a decision.
"We've got a very quick back-up on Friday night, so we'll just focus on business as usual and getting ready for that one," Noyce said, referring to the home game against North Queensland.
"I think the focus on timing is more external than internal.
"We'll just work through those things and give them the appropriate consideration it needs rather than just rush out and make a decision for decision's sake."

I'd say 100% we should be going for Kimmorley, but the more common sense we have it seems the club has less so we will end up with price.

The thing is though, would price be happy to step back into an assistant coach role under flanno? Most blokes like him want the top gig.

BK would help develop Brown in the 6 and Penani as a good 7.
Plus he would be great for our attack and kicking games.
Lots of benefits with BK but if we keep sitting on our hands, we end up with no-one worth having.

Isn't Ben Hunt on contract for next year? Or do they mean 2016?

It's a tough one, not sure he's worth that much but we are desperate. Maybe 550k and a night alone with you.
Surely 550k would get him here.

That IMO is slight overs but I would be willing to go a little higher (if we had to) due to how desperate we are for a quality half.

Ben Hunt would be a great signing and I'd love him to be here in 2015. But my worry is our dour attacking structure plus Gal's willingness again to get involved in the majority of our plays.

If Hunt is our number 7 next year (with Brown at 6 hopefully), they need more freedom to create and run the show. Gal needs to put his head down and get the metres, not be involved in elaborate backline plays.

Let me take him out for one night and he will want to move in with me and party every night.

We were paying carney 750 mate…. THAT is overs for a bloke that couldn't tackle.

Have you watched Ben Hunt at all this year? He is single handedly winning them games and getting them back into games. AND he can tackle. 750k for a future origin star is a bargain imo.

Hunt wouldn't take Gals **** imo. He is a straight up halfback with skill, vision, talent and youth all on his side. Gal would let him do his thing.

$750k won't get him here imo. He will be getting similar offers from a lot of sides - we will need to part with $850k+.

Probably still worth it if the backs we have coming through can be solid first graders - Holmes, Brown and Hunt can be our Smith,Cronk and Slater.
