Think we need one more second rower, we are think in those stocks.
O’Kane looked really good in Flegg though. Tasipale at the Jets worth a depth option.

But its evident we need a meter eating prop. BHU isnt it, neither is Hunt. Both built like monsters and play like kittens
Good summary

How did we get to the narrative of "our forward pack sucks"?

The team dropped too much ball, especially at times/places that matter. Even after that, if not for a bogus (head knock) penalty, a dodgy forward pass call and a winger making a dipshit play, the Sharks are right in the contest at the back end of that game.
We got bullied in the finals last year. We need another good prop to compete for a premiership against the best teams.

We lost the middle against Shaq Mitchell and Davy Moale. Lol.

I think regarding our pack, the make up of our bench in general is very important and I don't think we get it right against big packs. If we had Hunt against the Rabbitohs I think we probably come close or maybe even win. But we need any extra big body on the bench. Kaufusi played his role well. But we needed a big impact forward to come on and didn't have one. Bench should be Kaufusi, McInnes, Williams (or Graham) and one of Hunt/BHU or Hazelton with

No. They didn't. Watch the game again without the finals emotion or any beers. Rudolf and Finucane each had one awful missed tackle, the halves were out of sync and the left edge defence was dreadful. Outside of that the forwards did their job and gave the team enough field position to win.

No. They didn't. They lost the game because they made 5 errors in the space of 12 minutes, then backed that up with 4 penalties in the next 12, then a sin bin, then 4 errors in the final 8.

Can't win footy games without the ball no matter how good your props are.

NAS in our side doesn't change that game last week one bit, nor does it change the finals games.

it helps though

we got raped in the middle by a forward pack that contained shaq mitchell, michael chee kam, & davey maole

not to mention they lost tatola after 11 seconds and lost arrow mid way through the contest

you can lap it up and say errors this, errors that, but our pack, with one extra forward (they carried taffe on the bench) ran for 938 meters, they ran for 1089

our pack isnt crap, but it isnt good, its somewhere in the middle, we are lucky we have an elite half back and a decent back up half back, to go with backs who make up for the work the forwards cant do

you are off your head if you dont think NAS or Klemmer make a difference to the team on the weekend

Sorry, more specifically I meant it doesn't change the result. We definitely didn't have the better of the middle battle, there is no doubt there.

I agree with that assessment, we are not crap, but we are not a top tier pack. The frustrating part is that most of the forwards in our side have the capacity to perform at the upper end of their position, but they are inconsistent and we rarely have them show up in the same game. I thought many in our pack had a decent game this week, but the Souths pack stepped up and were fantastic, we didn't go with them.

For all our talk about how Fitz, Dale and Cam would inspire guys to redline more regularly, we haven't seen it.

So with 46% of the ball we ran for 46% of the metres. Amazing. Who would have thought?

both packs had 87 runs, so as i have confirmed, they raped us - with davey maoley and shaq mitchells both making more meters than any of our forwards not named toby rudolf

Time to give the BigNut a Crack this week. Should've been there game 1 for insurance. Get Gavin Miller in to give him some warm up face slaps!

So the Sharks middle who played the most minutes ran for the most metres... AND the Rabbitohs middles who were on the field during the period where they had 75% possession ran for more metres than the guys who were out there tackling them that whole time? I can't believe it.

yeh he made the most meters for us, he didnt make the most meters of any forward though

unreal that a guy like shaq mitchell had more meters per run than finucane, rudolf, nikora, teig ect

same as chee kam, unreal, but nah, you live in the world where are forwards are fine, we didnt lose a battle with shaq and maole on the field

Going of NRL.com stats, sharks pack had 83 runs for 907 metres at 10.92m per run. Souths pack had 90 runs for 961m at 10.67m per run. Yes they had Moaley and Mitchell who are two less regarded players, but Mitchell in particular was fantastic despite whatever you might think of him. That was also complemented by them having Murray and Koloamatangi who were easily the best two forwards on the park.

They won the middle battle on the eye test 100%, they had more speed through the ruck and Cook was able to play well off that. But we weren't raped. We had every chance to win it off the platform that was laid.

Factor in the 12 point turn around when Ronaldo tried to show off and they scored minutes later and it's a different game

Yeah we need to address our middles - BHU and Royce for mine aren't our future, they're inconsistent and we need a mainstay to lead the pack, but it's not why we lost. Handling errors and some atrocious edge defence are imo.
