Sharks Set To Snare Ennis

Bulldogs Captain Michael Ennis Linked To The Shire In 2015

The Daily Telegraph reports the Cronulla Sharks are set to sign Bulldogs Captain Michael Ennis for the next two seasons.

The off-contract Bulldog has gained a lot of interest from the Canberra Raiders but looks most likely to end up at the shire.

Contract talks with his current club Canterbury have hit the wall, following the Bulldogs signing of boom hooker Michael Lichaa

Michael and his young family are Cronulla residents which may influence the 30-year-old's decision.

Would still prefer one of the Souths hooker ahead of Ennis. If for whatever reason we can't get one of them then I can stomach Ennis for two years. Good to see we're not going for three years.

ennis is a great option until our youngsters are ready, like the roosters kid or jayden brailey, or until nu'u brown gets the spot, however, i think he will be our halfback going forward, he is way to talented not to be

Mate the club has Paul Gallen, Todd Carney, Luke Lewis, Andrew Fifita and Soon Michael Ennis.
No shortage of big names, players want money, and all ours will be in those 5 there.
It will help us hold onto holmes and brown though

the club may actually have a plan in place to being these young along, from what I've heard there are some very talented hookers in our lower grades but are still a few years away from the nrl

The ennis signing makes perfect sense for this, only has a few years left but is still in decent form. If we were to go out and buy one of those young souths hookers we'd most likely lose one or two of our young hookers, people whinge we keep losing them but then again, whinge when we buy old players as well, lose lose situation

Ennis is a step in the right direction.
Signing him means both degois and morris certainly wont play on next year.
1 player taking 2 players place. 80 minute hooker probably best hooker this season too.

Gives 2 years of quality development to the younger guys and could push brown into a 7.

Can't agree more. We have talent in the juniors but they need a mentor and Ennis would be the perfect person for this. Who knows, maybe after the two years he will stay on with us for 1 more as a 40 minute hooker and help blood our new hooker, who ever that may be
