Why have a squad of 30 if teams can just keep “lending” players?

Let’s just put everyone in one big pool and start picking squads each week on who is available (allowing for Injuries/suspensions etc).

Picks to start in alphabetical order every week…..

1. Aaacronulla
2. Brisbane
3. Canberra
4. Canterbury
etc, etc, etc

No 1 is Alphabetical weekly, then next 15 (16 next year) onwards can do as they wish

Top 4 teams get to pick 2 players from each of the bottom 8 teams for their finals run (maximum of 8 ring ins).

Teams that came 5th to 8th get to pick 1 from each of the bottom 8 (maximum of 4 ring ins).

Yeh this loan stuff is ridiculous. Gould was saying to loan a player you need to cancel their current contract, sign one with the new club for the remainder of the year then resign with the original club.

It's not like going to the library and pulling out your library card.
