If Tolman is still playing to the same standard come season's end I have no issue giving him a 1 year extension.

Don't forget we have 11 spots in the top 30 open next year at the moment.

If he spends the whole of next year in Cup, great. Means someone has stepped up to take his spot and he will make them work their arse off to keep it.

Fifi I already kind of see like a Udonis Haslem/Miami Heat situation. He' a Totem/Coach/Player in that order for mine.

Either give him a minimum deal and keep that energy or if he retires he remains at club as a specialist forward coach.

A few people have said that but I don't really see it to be honest.
A junior coach maybe I could see, working with younger kids, but he is far from a typical forward and never struck me as an especially dedicated trainer or technical player.

Fifita: "So I want to see you crab across the field and just use your palm and explosive leg drive to burst through the wide gap and flick pass back on the inside for the fullback'
Hazelton: "Pick one of those things"

And also at an NRL level has shown issues with coaching staff and authority in the past (conflict with Bomber for what I still think was deserved criticism, pointing at coaches box, even the orange peel incident - he's never loved authority).

I think he would both prefer and be better at coaching younger players... I don't know him though so that's just my take.

He' a Totem
I like that.

Ya make Fifita a role & keep him round like Gal & Lewy.
You'd have to go Gal, Fifita, Lewy right?

Fifitas knees couldn't hold the pole up but Gal is a staunch little beast.

Certainly be a sight for those rocking up to Shark Park!

Be awesome. Better than individual statues. Would be like Mecca.

Nanai’s asking price is now 600k a season, wants minimum 3 years with 4 clubs circling. I don’t believe we are one of them.

Haas wants 1 mil a season.

Ponga has 8 weeks to decide whether he’s staying at the knights or will test the market to leave. Dolphins i think Will get him.

Tolman has stated he wishes to continue playing next season. Fifita likely to continue also (barring injury).
Can the dolphins get Ponga and Munster? At this stage you'd say it's possible

Tolmans best chance of playing next year is if he is released to take an 18 month deal elsewhere.
Doubt it will happen but somewhere like Melbourne who are short on middles and will lack a lot of experience up front next year may dangle a carrot.

I'd say continuing to play decent NRL this year for us is an option to make him attractive next year

Now Franklin Pele is being linked to the Tigers. Wonder who is next.

Nanai seems really good. He gets a bunch of missed tackles but most of those are from coming out of the line to pressure halves, they aren't like disadvantaged by the misses.

Wasn’t he linked a week or more ago?

Ugh maybe I can't keep track of all the Tigers links
👍🏻
They do seem to be linked to every player coming off contract.
Managers trying to push up their clients price I guess.

”Watch out. The tigers are looking at this guy and are offering to pay overs so you had better increase your offer if you want to retain them….”

Drinkwater on outer @ Cowboys
Be a good pick-up for us.
Wouldnt command much $$
Comes from same system as Hynes - and probably played together at junior level.
Could sign him and let Metcalf go to Warriors now seeing as hes signed there already

Would be a good Moylan replacement and competition for Trindall (which he'd probably be winning). Even if we signed him for next year I wouldn't mind that signing.
