Jobs aren’t throwing themselves at him

Not at the moment, but I am sure some clubs are watching on with interest. His reputation with developing juniors is good. I'm sure other clubs would be looking to bringing him into a role like that (not a head coaching role). Like HB, if I was him I wouldn't stick around after all this B.S. - If I was Fitz I wouldn't want the old head coach hanging around either.

No I think it would be great for the club to have Morris around at some capacity. Not sure if any clubs have put their front foot forward for him.

Keep him as a Head or Manager of the junior system or something because it sounds like he is highly regarded in those systems.

I like the idea but see many issues which would make it untenable:

1: Cost.
Not only are they suggesting we will be paying not 1 but 2 new coaches around $1m combined (to replace a much cheaper option) but also hiring bellyache (who won’t be cheap) on top of that.

2: Pride
Bomber isn’t going to want to accept anything less than a HC role at the Sharks now, plus an increased contract (reportedly around $600k or something???)

3: Paranoia
New coaches don’t want to be looking over their shoulder at the previous HC still lurking around

I’ve been a big supporter of Bomber being extended and believe he deserves it based on the big improvements this year.
He has been handcuffed through various reasons and is producing good results considering those circumstances.
He has definitely developed some fringe players into good and potentially great players and has their backing.

In saying that, I also see the vision the board in wanting to take the club into that next level and it would be reckless of them not to at least investigate options (which should be done in stealth).

Unfortunately, the media got wind of it and has now turned it into a media circus (typically).
They will now hound it to death to try to force our hand in making a rash decision (that’s what they do) rather than allowing us to get through our due diligence before making our final decision.
Now that the cat is out of the bag thou, we probably do need to make a decision (either way) as quickly as possible now so everyone can move forward.

The media break all of our toys!
