I want him but no way he's worth 500k atm imo.

I love how people chime in saying he’s not with x y z.

The average salary for a player is about 300k.. ish

Allan is more than an average player. He’s an elite junior who’s now played origin at fullback. The only reason he’s not a start is because of Latrell who’s elite.

So 500k is more than fair for him imo. We have 900k in Moylan sitting on the bench doing nothing.

I will add that I’ve very bearish that we actually get him.

Keep in mind of course those are not a number for every squad player, just the ones I could find, but yeah, general indication is NSW had more 'high profile players' (expensive)

If anything we probably lacked a Ferrari or two, I mean look how much time he gave Jurbo, and bloke made like 54 tackles no misses. He was very much the Tarago. I think we were hamstrung a bit by our centres being perceived not ready (Lomax, Crichton, Best), any of two of them on the side if they can improve at all from their 2020s will help a lot. Now you could always go a Qld and just chuck them in anyway right? Sure, but I guess we played it safe in a way and went overall experience over positional experience.

Even the NSW bench was like 4 Taragos pretty much, needed Pap the Ferrari.

Those centres/back are pretty much my point. Hamstrung is a state of mind Bennet didn't have. Wighton is a Ferrari. Gutho can be. Tupou is too. (JAC is too, to be fair, but at least he's playing well in his actual position.) They were outplayed by, at best, used Subaru's with after-market spoiler kits. 'Better than Walking' Edrick comes out for QLD and does a pretty simple wingers job really well, improving on the likes of Coates. We should have parked a few Ferrari's and got some hungry, motivated, capable positional players into the team, rather than just picking as many SuperCoach top scorers as we could fit in.

Yep, and “Positional” being the key the word. Gutho at centre is absurd in my opinion.

Well it is a forum.

No club will offer him 500k. Not one.

I reckon Mr Allen would currently be on $150k up to, but less than $200k. We at the top end of that range and security of 2/3 yrs, with reasonable, Staggered increases, and inference of a starting spot, we could snare- in current environment. Mr Mooney, has to be real Thrifty.

As I said elsewhere the average wage is probably not a very good indicator when it comes to guessing what a promising 20 year old who has never played NRL would be worth. Very few unproven 20 year old would get offers at or above average NRL wage.
Median wage is about 180k

From Sydney Morning Herald

Marshall is perhaps the highest-profile player yet to find a home for 2021 after the Tigers opted not to renew his contract. The former Golden Boot recipient knocked back an approach from the Cowboys, but is still hopeful of picking up a club.

His best chance of doing so appears to be Cronulla. The Shire outfit is expecting to be without Shaun Johnson for the opening two months of the season after the Kiwis half ruptured his Achilles tendon in the penultimate match of the regular season. Matt Moylan, who the Sharks have unsuccessfully attempted to move on from the final year of his deal, is one of the contenders to fill the void alongside Connor Tracey and Braydon Trindall. The latter is poised to be re-signed after making his debut this year.

However, Marshall could provide much-needed experience to John Morris, who is fighting for his own future at the club. Marshall, who has a good relationship with Cronulla football manager Darren Mooney from their time at the Tigers, is weighing up whether to play on or retire.

Well whilst you’re in fantasy land what do you think Allan would actually cost.

What's fantasy in what I said? You think Allen gets within cooee of an SOO jersey with all hands on deck in a regular season? If that 80mins makes his price tag $500k my response is "get ****ed".

What he'll actually cost I don't know but $500k feels steep. To claim last night added $150k to his value.. ehh I don't see it.

No chance a club pays 500k.

If he can get 350k-400k and a starting spot in the 1 he'd be dumb not to take it.

I don't want him at 500k. He has good hands and looks a good, smart fullback prospect but he surely has to be down there with the slowest in the league. I'd be surprised if he ever hit the heights of top fullbacks.

He's definitely better than Kennedy and at 350kish I'd snap him up to start.
