An extra time field goal by skipper Jamie Soward gave the Sydney Roosters an historic 14-13 victory over Cronulla in the Jersey Flegg rugby league grand final at Telstra Stadium.

The win ensured the Roosters became the first team since St George's first grade side in 1959 to go through a season undefeated.

Won the Buckley shield in 2000 with him and Tommy Leroyd (now Tom Leroyd Lahrs) I played fullback. Good team

TL signed for Broncos and PJ for Souths, never heard from PJ again, looks like he got close for Roosters, Christ he was a good schoolboy player.

Thanks for this, bringing back some good memories

Good to know, last I saw him was walking round a shopping centre in Canberra, he is not a small man.

Buckley is under 15,s I think, I was 14 in 2000 but everyone in my year was a year older (bloody January birthday)

Just checked the winners list Farrer haven’t won it since, just legends that year I spose haha.

No idea. He signed with Burleigh originally with a Titans train and trial. Maybe he saw the Titans as a better place to get an NRL opportunity.

Yep. Was probably the best player in the comp the previous year too but busted an ankle and missed a heap of time.

Fogerty signed a 2 year deal. This year is dev list. Next year is top 30.

bort - Josh Rogers goes alright. He’s been up and down a bit the last 2 years and spent a bit of time on the bench because they had Pythian. He’ll probably be their starting 6 this year though.

Played up until June 30 of 2017 with Parra’s NSW Cup team, but didn’t get a run in the NRL so came back to Burleigh. His 2 NRL games were for the Titans. One game I think he came off the bench and played on the wing.
